Aswan, situated on the banks of the Nile and is south of Cairo. Aswan is the capital of the Aswan Governorate. It is one of the most beautiful places in the country with the spectacular sunsets, awesome landscapes and perfect weather. The town has two main islands that are-Elephantine and Kitchener. Kitchener's Island is the famous site of a botanic gardens whereas Elephantine has a museum.

Aswan is a beautiful city with such a long "to-do" list that you will be forced to extend your stay.

Aswan is located south of Cairo and can be reached from almost all the main cities of Egypt via plane. Train is another means to reach Aswan comfortably. Reaching Aswan by cruise or boat is not a popular option amongst the tourists.
