Garissa is a city in North Eastern Province, Kenya. It is the capital of the province and Garissa District. It lies on the Tana River and is popular as the geographical 'gateway' to the North Eastern province. The city has a lot in store for the people and can never let you get bored. Local Transport

Garissa is small town which can be explored on foot. But still the taxis are easily available and quite cheap also. The roads aren't smooth and have got numerous potholes that it becomes impassable. Cycling is a good option to move around inside the city. It is inexpensive as well as perfect way to experience the beauty of the city.

Getting Around

Garissa has an airfield but there are no daily scheduled flights. So it is quite difficult to reach Garissa directly. But there are several buses linking Garissa to the main cities of Kenya. The buses are comfortable and inexpensive mode of transport. You can also hire a taxi or take car on rent to get to Garissa. But the only trouble is that the roads of the city are not surfaced and unpaved, causing weariness.
