Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia (SA), was founded by free settlers in 1836. It is one of the most historic cities in Australia, situated on the eastern shores of Gulf St. Vincent, on the Adelaide Plains, north of the Fleurieu Peninsula, between the Gulf St. Vincent and foothills of Mount Lofty Ranges.
