Belonging to the fabled Ming Dynasty, Yu Garden is synonymous to peace and comfort. It is situated at the heart of the bustling Shanghai. The garden is a must visit with its beautiful scenery, brilliant architecture and stunning rockery. One of the biggest attractions of the garden is the amazing Jade Rock. It is a beautifully-shaped grotesque rock weighing 5 ton. The rock is set apart by its slender shape, numerous holes, translucent nature, etc. The first thing you see on entering the garden is a marvelous piece of rockery the Great Rockery. About 50 feet tall, you get a bird’s eye view of the garden from the top of the rock.
The classical Chinese garden is a must-see place for every tourist in China. Numerous painting, flower, stone and lantern exhibitions and tea ceremonies are held in the garden. Yu Garden is indeed “the crown of beauty”.
