L'Aquila travel guide
L’ Aquila is a small and pleasant city, surrounded with mountains and situated on the northern part of the province having the same name. The city is also the capital of that province. It is worth mentioning that the city has witnessed severe earthquakes that have changed the face of the entire place. Narrow streets with baroque, renaissance architecture, elegant piazzas and extravagant mountains make this place a favorable tourist destination.

Historical BackgroundGerman Emperor Corrado IV established L’Aquila in 1254. Later on, L’Aquila becomes the second city of the kingdom of Naples.
