Importance

Republic Day is celebrated on 26 th January as a national festival. This day is observed as a day when Constituent Assembly of India brought in to force the Constitution of India. In the city of Delhi, this festival is celebrated with pomp and pageant. Besides this, it is also celebrated at other places & headquarters with patriotic fervor. On Republic Day, a pledge is renewed that was made on the midnight of Independence. The ceremony of Republic Day is conducted with rhetoric in the background and visuals are given preference.

Cultural Representations

This day is celebrated nationally at all administrative units such as in district headquarters, capital cities, sub divisions and panchayats. Besides this, it is marked by massive parades, march, folk dances etc. However, variations in culture are represented through cultural dances and colorful attires. In addition to this, the streak of Indian jet planes leaving colored smokes represents the end of the festival. As this day has acquired a rank of social celebration, people participate heartily as spectators.
