In the corner of the inner court of the Dargah, is a magnificent building in white marble with a long and narrow court having low arcade and delicate carvings with trelliswork. It is the most marvelous of all the sanctums within the sanctuary of the Dargah.
Humayun built the Dargah. Akbar built the palace in the neighbourhood. Shah Jahan built the Taj. But before Shah Jahan got around to Mumtaz Mahal's tomb, he made sure the Mughal Public Works Department got its practice working on other marble beauties. The Shah Jahan Mosque located in the inner court of the Dargah is a magnificent example of the Great Mughals' architectural fantasies, with its 33m-long court, delicate trelliswork, endless arches and carved balustrade.
The mosque was constructed in 1650. This mosque is 33 meters and has 11 arches with Persian inscriptions all over it. This mosque is made of white marble.
