About 23 kms away from Trichur is an irrigation project site offering boating facilities at the reservoir. It is an enchanting picnic spot and several buses connect Trichur to Peechy with good motorable roads. Boating is permitted in the reservoir and on lucky days one can see wild tuskers on the forested banks, which forms part of the 125 sq. kms. Vazhani Wildlife Sanctuary.
