Camel Breeding Farms

This is a centre for camel research and breeding, situated 8 kms. from Bikaner and this institute is only one of it's kind in Asia. The farm extends over 2000 acres of semi arid land and is managed by the Central Government. Bikaner's Camel corps was a famous fighting force and still maintains its importance in desert warfare. It is here that one gets to see and wonder “what an interesting animal the camel is”? You can also hear stories about the camels from the Raika or Rebari (a camel breeding tribe). In the evening, hundreds of camels are found here and the playful baby-camels make a very enchanting sight
