About Chamba

The town Chamba, the district headquarters of Chamba district is in Himachal Pradesh and stands on the right bank of the river Ravi. It was founded by Raja Sahil Varman and was named after Champavati, his daughter. It is also known as the Valley of Milk and Honey. Chambaps serene beauty makes it the ideal holiday retreat and the valley is renowned for its fine shikara temples and elegant handicrafts.
