| About Coonoor: | Coonoor is the Nilgiri’s second largest hill station and is bordered by tea plantations at a height of 1839 meters. The climate of Coonoor is milder as compared to Ooty. Coonoor is a famous getaway for weekends for the people residing in Coimbatore. Coonoor is little tea garden town having a pleasant weather all the year around. Coonoor falls on the line of toy train between Ooty and Mettupalayam. A famous past time in this town is birdwatching as it has an extensive bird variety. The chief attraction over here is the Sim’s Park which is well maintained and small botanical garden having various varieties of plants. Coonoor is situated at a distance of 19 kms to the Ooty’s south and can be easily accessed by both road and train.
