The Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary is located at a distance of 78kms from Siliguri, in the district of Darjeeling. The sanctuary lies on the way to Dooars across the river Tista. The sanctuary is quite near to the Gorumara national park and thus one can easily visit both. The sanctuary covers an area of about 96square.kilometers. The sanctuary abounds in natural vegetation and comprises of various species of plants and trees that are hard to find somewhere else. Fauna- The chief attraction of the sanctuary is the Elephants that are found here in large numbers.
