This Italian way Roman Catholic Church build in 1879 is situated west of Chandra Sekhar Azad Park between Edmondstone Road and Thornhill Road. This church was built by Fr. Raphael of Livorno. It is the fifth oldest Catholic Church in U.P. The others are being at Allahabad (1845), Ghazipur (now no more), Chunar (1848) and Varanasi (1851). This church was set up at the order of Catholic troops stationed at Gorakhpur during 1850's.
