The hot water springs of Vashisht are a fascinating place to explore, and the crystal clear waters gushing out of this spring provides a suitable niche for taking ritual bath. Vashisht lies on the banks of the river Beas. It also houses a temple that is devoted to the sage, Vashisht Muni. The temple is built in the model of a pyramid, which makes it unique from all other temples. Another inquisitive feature is that it is carved out of a single stone.
Vashisht has much to provide its visitors like the picturesque view of the trout-filled Beas River. The hot water springs in this region has made this hamlet a favorite tourist destination. These springs emanate from the deep granite deposits and cover a considerable part of the Himalayas. The temperature of the spring varies between 110 and 123 degree Fahrenheit.
Vashisht is set on the foot of rocky hill that is rich with all sorts of flora like the deodar and pine trees. At the centre of the village there are scenic ponds and brooks which enthrall the hearts of every visitor. The village has two separate baths for women and men that provide satiating hot showers.
Other interesting sites in Vashisht are stone and wood houses with baroque carving, and the small ‘Himachali’ temples that are spread throughout the region. Majority of shops in Vashisht sell sweaters and other woollen clothes. All along the main street there are good eateries and cafes that provide local delicacies. Sipping a coffee and indulging in the epic beauty of the area is one of the best things to do in Vashisht.
