Resembling a miniature fortress, this monument is of archaeological importance dates to the era between the Lodhi Period and Mughal Period. Located on the western side of Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road Madhi Masjid is nearly 500 meters away from the Jamali Kamali mosque in the Archaeological Survey Park. Being architecturally unique this mosque exhibits the striking features of both of an open wall-mosque as well as a covered mosque. On the either side of the three central bays on the walls flat-roofed chambers with arched openings have been installed and have also been beautified using tiles of various colors.

What makes it strongly resemble to miniature fortress is the presence of turrets in each corner of the courtyard, which is encircled by tough walls. This facilitated the purpose of working as a place of worship as well as a watch tower which helped to keep an eye over the rival army. Another of its unique feature is the presence of a grand and impressive looking gateway on one of its eastern sides and has been articulated in Hindu architecture displaying gray stone. The gateway is square in shape and also has a dome to it and what further multiply its grace are the two elegantly projecting Jharoka or overhanging windows which are made up of red stone. The inside of the place has been covered with heavy growth of wild shrubs within the premises of the Masjid today this Masjid stays secluded in the region of Mehrauli.

The fact, regarding who got it constructed and when, remains a mystery. There is a bifurcated view as some historians believe that it belongs to the Mughal Period and others believe that it was built during the Lodi period. However, what matters is that a visit to this uniquely constructed Masjid will be great fun and hence must be visited. A lot of people choose this place for showing these to their kids as it speaks a lot about the Indian legend hence allows the people to take a peep into the old Heritage. The Masjid sees a lot of people picnicking in its exterior premises as well.
