History of Rajasthan:  According to Hindu Mythology, Rajputs belonging to the state of Rajasthan were descendants of Kshatriyas (warriors of the Vedic India). Rajput warrior clans emerged in 6th & the 7th centuries. The ancestry of the Rajputs can be classified into two, which are Lunar also known as Chandravanshi and Solar also known as Suryavanshi. Further a third Rajput clan was added i.e. Agnikula, which means fire born.

Rajputs have been classified into 36 different races and 21 kingdoms. There were various dynasties of the Rajputs like Sisodias of Mewar, Rathors of Marwar, Kachwahas of Amber, Hadas of Jhalwawar, Bhattis of Jaisalmer, Kota & Bundi, Chauhans of Ajmer and many more.
