About Silchar

Known as 'Island of Peace' in the North-Eastern side of the country, Silchar is the district-headquarter of Cachar in the Indian state of Assam. Initially, this place was used as the port for anchoring the ships for the British. Silchar is the place where the Britishers established the first ever polo-ground in India.
