History of Nishat Garden :
Built by Noor Jehan’s brother Asif Khan, this Mughal Garden was built in the year 1633 on the banks of Dal Lake with the Himalayas at its backdrop. So if you are planning a tour to Kashmir then drop into the Nishat Garden. One can enjoy the exciting Shikara ride from the Garden to the Nehru Park.

Shalimar Garden

Located on the shores of Dal Lake, this beautifully terraced garden Shalimar Garden adds to the beauty of Kashmir. Well planned and well laid out Shalimar Garden is one of the major tourist attractions in Srinagar. Shallow terraces, sweeping vistas this garden is 539m by 182m which has 4 terraces. Intersected by rippling streams that waters the garden it is remarkably beautiful. The topmost terrace of the garden was originally reserved for the royal ladies.

During autumn and spring the Shalimar Garden presents a vast array and rich variety of colorful flowers that makes it a wonderful sight. Tourists from different parts of the world come here to watch the colorful blossoms adorn the garden.
