| About-Trivandrum: | Trivandrum is situated at the southern tip of Indian subcontinent and is a noted capital of Kerala - god’s own place. Trivandrum, which is swept by the Arabian Sea, is a palm fringed and an idyllic place which is situated on the seven hills. The word Trivandrum is derived from the word Thiruvananthapuram meaning the city of Anantha.

| History of Trivandrum: | For better understanding, you can divide the city Trivandrum into Tiru", "Anantha", "puram" meaning the town of lord Anantha. Due to the presence of the temple at the heart of the town, the above statement is quite appropriate. Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala and its several districts encompasses the rich heritage of literature, folklore and ancient tradition. With the beginning of new era of Marthanda Varma – who is considered as the father of modern Travancore, modern history begins.
With the opening of English school at Thiruvananthapuram, the English education started in the year 1834. A charity hospital as well as an observatory was also started in the year 1836. Shri Moolam Assembly came into the existence in the year 1904 and various activities of Indian National Congress echoed in Thiruvananthapuram and some other parts of Kerala. Under the proper guidance and presidency of Dr. Pattabi Sitaramaiah, a political conference of congress was held in the year 1938.

Kovalam
Kovalam is located at a distance of around 12kms south of Thiruvananthapuram. It is one of the best beaches in India. The place has been developed in to a beautiful sea-side resort. The beach area has various cottages, hotels, yoga centers etc. An ancient port by the name of Vizhinjam lies at a distance of 2kms from Kovalam.
