About Tumkur:  Tumkur is one of the busiest industrial towns located in the state of Karnataka. It is situated at a distance of 70 Kilometers from the city of Bangalore and to the west of the city of Mysore. The town comprises of various hills, streams, vales etc., which enhances the beauty of the place. It is a paradise for nature lovers, who want to enjoy their time in seclusion. The hills located at Tumkur may extend over 4000 feet.

The famous River Krishna and River Cauvery flows down the steep slopes of the hills. One can also view here various streams like Shimsha and Jayamala. The place abounds in mineral resources like iron and many more. The crops grown here include rice, millet, oil seeds and pulses. Industries like woolen blanket industry, cotton cloth industry and rope making industry are some of the chief industries located here in Tumkur. Though being an industrial town, Tumkur is still reckoned as one of the major tourist places located in Karnataka.

Pavagada Fort

Pavagada Fort

This hill fort was built in 1405 by a famous Vijaynagar dynasty's king. This fort bears the stamp of the violent battle that took place between Tipu Sultan and the British.

Devarayana Durga

A beautiful hill station with a forest cover of 18 sq. km, this forest is the home for many wild animals like Leopard, Tiger, Bear and Wild Dog. Excursions to this place are common on Tumkir tours.
