Referred to as Sas Bahu Ka Mandir due to their close association, the two temples were built by the great Kachwah King Mahapala some where in the 10th century. The original temple of Lord Vishnu constructed by Yasomati, wife of the commander in chief of the Mewar Ruler was destroyed and the remains includes the very place where the two temples of the Kachwa Ruler are built. Visitors to the temple of of the notion that the two temples are in the name of the mother in law and the daughter in law of a family as its name signify . But on visiting the temple they realise that the temple is actually given the name because of its close proximity to each other as a mother in law is closely related to her daughter in law in a household.
Temple Architecture : Probably the most ancient of the structures in the city, the larger temple is sculpted with intricate designs and beautiful figures are depicted on them. The interiors of the temples can be seen with decorated walls and carved pillars. Visitors can see a lotus adoring the roof of the temple. The in laid works in the temple are elaborately designed.
