    Description :
    Known as the "Whiskey" route, the Machame route is the most popular camping route on the mountain and usually takes 6 or 7 days. The Machame route has a high success rate in reaching the summit as climbers have the opportunity to climb high and sleep low, which helps with acclimatization. On Average about 85% of climbers reach the top.

  • Machame Gate to Machame Hut

    Description :

    Around 8am will be picked up from your accommodation in Moshi, and drive 1 hour to Machame gate, The journey pass through machame village which it is located on the lower slopes of the mountain, At the gate you will need to sign in, passport number it is needed, you will provided with lunch boxes and water, Bless Africa Crew will organize all the luggage and food, weigh and then get the permit.
    You will begin your trek and walk through the rain forest on the winding trail up a ridge, The trail can be muddy and slippery. Gaiters and trekking poles it is a good idea. You will have lunch on the way, We continue a short distance until we reach Machame campsite.

    Machame Hut to Shira Cave Campsite

    Description :

    After breakfast you will begin your trek to Shira Cave Campsite,you will leave the glades of rain forest and continue trekking crossing the little valley walking along the rocky ridge,You will have lunch on the way, after lunch you will continue trekking to shira cave campsite, Later in the afternoon you will go for acclimatization walk which it will help to get used to the altitude. Dinner and overnight at shira cave campsite.

    Shira Cave Campsite to Lava Tower to Barranco

    Description :

    After Breakfast you will begin your trek to Barranco campsite via Lava Tower (4600meters),called the Shark’s tooth, You will have lunch at the Lover tower and spend time at this altitude so that you can get used to the altitude, you will continue down to Barranco campsite at altitude of 3950meters where you will have dinner and overnight, Although you will end the day at the same elevation as where you started ,this day it is very important for acclimatization and it will keep your body ready for summit day.

    Barranco Campsite to Karanga Valley Campsite

    Description :

    After breakfast, we leave Barranco and continue on a steep ridge passing the Barranco Wall, to the Karanga Valley campsite. You will have a hot lunch at the camp. Later in the afternoon you will go for acclimatization walk. Dinner and overnight at Karanga Valley.

    Karanga Valley to Barafu Hut

    Description :

    After breakfast you will continue the trekking to Barafu hut. At Barafu hut you will have a good view of the summit from different angles, rest, prepare for the summit and dinner will be served early. Also you will have a good view of two peaks Kibo and Mawenzi.

    Hiking Time: 4-5 hours

    Barafu Hut to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Hut

    Description :

    You will begin your trekking to the summit very early in the morning (midnight at 12:30am) the trail it is zigzag up through heavy scree towards Stella Point at the crater rim, This is the most mentally and physically challenging portion of the trek. At Stella point you will have a rest for a hot drink (tea) to warm up your body while enjoying the magnificent sunrise. From Stella Point you may encounter snow but this depends with the time, it is 1 hour ascent to the summit, Uhuru peak the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and in Africa.
    After the summit you will start trekking down to Mweka campsite but you will stop at Barafu to have lunch and a short rest, after resting you will continue trekking down to Mweka campsite which is situated at the forest, last dinner and overnight at the campsite.
    Elevation 4600 meters to 5895meters (and down to 3100meters)
    Distance: 5 km ascent / 12 km descent
    Hiking Time: 7-8 hours ascent / 4-6 hours descent
    Habitat: Arctic

    Mweka Hut to Mweka Gate

    Description :

    After breakfast, you will start to trek down to Mweka Gate to receive your summit certificates. At lower elevations, it can be wet and muddy. Gaiters and trekking poles will help. A vehicle will be waiting at the gate to take you to your accommodation in Moshi

    Distance: 10 km
    Hiking Time: 3-4 hours
    Habitat: Rain Forest

    Please take your time to read Bless Africa Tours Terms and Conditions following before making any booking with us, so you are aware of the ‘rules of the game’.

    1. Booking your holiday

    1. Changes in the itinerary – Our holidays are planned many months in advance, it is therefore possible that some arrangements may have to be changed and we reserve the right to at any time.
    2. Underage travelers – Bookings can only be accepted for persons under eighteen years of age when accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for them.
    3. Accommodation – In the unlikely event of accommodation not being available on arrival at a hotel/campsite described and/or confirmed to the clients, Bless Africa tours undertakes to provide alternative accommodation in a hotel/campsite of categories at least as high as those contracted, if available.
    4. Travel documents – Clients are responsible for obtaining passports, visas, health certificates, international driving permits and any other documents relating to their holiday themselves and to meet any additional costs which may be incurred as a result of failure to comply with such requirements.
    5. Travel insurance – All clients must take out their own adequate travel insurance and copies must be given to the tour guide upon initial meeting. The insurance must take into account the nature of the holiday and client must specify to their insurance company if they intend climbing, trekking, diving etc. The policy should also have repatriation cover in the event of serious accident.

    2. Payment for your holiday

    1. Deposits – Bookings must be accompanied by a 20% deposit and the complete balance is due no later than ten (10) weeks prior to the starting date of your tour. If the booking is made within this time of 10 weeks then the full amount should be paid with the booking.
    2. Late Payment – If the balance due is not received by the due date we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled. Appropriate cancellation charges may be levied. All bank charges are for client to bear.
    3. Accepted Currencies – Payment for your trekking and safari can be done in US Dollar, by international bank transfer or credit card. Please note that a transaction fee applies to all credit card payments, contact us for more information on this.
      • Cancellations –Cancellation should be made in writing (email is acceptable)
      • More than 60 days before start date – deposit.
      • 29 to 60 days before start date – 50%
      • 15 to 28 days before start date – 75%
      • 14 days or less – total cost of tour.
    4. Quoted Price- Our quoted prices are based on current exchange rates and on-the-ground prices. The price of a tour may vary at any time before Bless Africa tours have accepted a booking from you, and they may be varied after your booking is made. Should the variation be in excess of 10% of the holiday cost the client will have the right to a refund of all money paid.

    3. During your holiday:

    1. Adventurous activities – Client’s bookings are accepted on the understanding that the client appreciates the possible risks inherent in travel, in particular when undertaking adventurous activities such as trekking, climbing and diving.
    2. Illness during safari – The Company undertakes to run the Safari at the agreed itinerary and price. The clients hereby agreed to abide to the same. If a client becomes unwell after departure, no refund will be given.
    3. Climbing & Trekking – Please note that for clients undertaking a trekking itinerary we offer first class guides, porters and safety equipment. If you are obliged to abandon an activity due to your own physical limitations there is no refund of park fees and any additional accommodation and/or transport fees are not the responsibility of Bless Africa tours
    4. Disclaimer Form – You may be asked to sign a Disclaimer Form prior to participation in certain activities.
    5. Alterations – We regret that no credit or refund is possible for any unused services provided in the cost of your holiday. If you during your time abroad, you decide to alter your travel arrangements this will be your own responsibility and Bless Africa tours cannot be held responsible for any extra costs or difficulties that may arise with onward travel as a result of such alterations.
    6. Delays – In the unlikely event of a delay at the airport for your international or domestic flight, arrangements for meals, overnight accommodation etc. should be met by your airline. If you are joining a group and flight delays mean that additional transfers etc. are required to enable you to join the group, these costs must be met by you – the client and should later be re-claimed under your insurance policy if applicable.
    7. Vehicles – In case of major breakdown a rescue vehicle shall be sent immediately – minor problems that can be repaired will be dealt with to allow the safari to continue.
    8. Luggage – The Company shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to baggage.
