Day Wise Breakup

Day 1 - Accra

Accra Arrival at Kotoka International Airport, Accra, where a representative from ABACAR meets group on arrival for hotel transfer. A briefing about the tour will be given over a welcome dinner. Diner & night in Accra.

Day 2 - Accra, Lake Volta, Akosombo

Departure after breakfast to Akosombo and the Lake Volta. You will discover on the way the largest waterfall of Ghana as well as mount Afadjato, the highest mountain in the country. We will reach Tafi Atome Monkey Santuary by the end of the afternoon, where holly monkeys are real members of the community.
Diner & night in Tafi Atome.

Day 3 - Akosombo, Aburi, Kumasi

On the way to Kumasi, we stop in Aburi and visit the botanical garden. We will also pay a visit to the craftsmen who are carving wood and working with leather in the surrounding villages. We will have lunch in Koforidua and should arrive in Kumasi by the end of the afternoon. Diner & night in Kumasi.

Day 4 - Kumasi, Lake Bosumtwi

Visit after breakfast of Manhyiah palace, Yaa Asantawaa museum and the war museum. After lunch, we will visit of the Ashanti cultural centre and go to Lake Bosumtwi. Diner & night in Abonu (lakeside).

Day 5 - Lake Bosumtwi, Cape Coast

After a short walk on the lakeside in the morning, we will depart to Cape Coast where we intend to arrive by lunch time. After lunch we will visit the Cape Coast castle and the Elmina castle. Both castles are located near fishing harbours that are filled with hundreds of highly decorated fishing canoes and have been declared as UNESCO World Heritage. They were both “doors of no return” for the slaves on their way to America and Europe. Diner & night in Cape Coast.

Day 6 - Cape Coast, Accra

Visit of the Kakum National Park including a wonderful walkway in the canopy at sometimes 40m over the ground level! Stopover for a lunch break at the Hans Botel, a resort partly built on stilts on a river with crocodiles, lots of bird life and monkeys. Departure to Accra in the afternoon. Diner & night in Accra.

Day 7 - Accra

Visit of the city with its main streets, monuments & museums. You will of course have the opportunity to shop in Oxford Street before being back to the hotel for check out. Check in and departure from Kokota International Airport.
