What has to be brought by the participant?

Personal torch, quick drying clothes/swimming costume for rafting, waterproof floater kind of sandals with a securable back strap, retainer strap for shades or prescription glasses, cameras, sun protection/block cream, moisturiser, change of clothing to wear after rafting, towel, toilet kit etc. Warm clothing would be needed from mid oct to mid march.

General Notifications:

Participants would be required to sign an indemnity/disclaimer prior to trip start.
Minimum age for participation is 15 years.
No room service or any kind of special considerations/customizations is possible/provided.
This is not a luxury trip. Participants should be willing to rough it out.
Participants are expected to participate in camp activities like collecting wood, setting up tents etc.
Participants not comfortable in water may be asked to walk certain rapids.
Decision of our trip leader would be final.
People with past history/ailment of heart, asthma, epilepsy are not recommended to register for this tour.
Weather disruptions may at times result in discomfort or unplanned adjustments.
Toilets are tented, dry pit arrangements with western kind of w/c.

Travel advisory:

Participants should reach Shivpuri not later than 6 AM on day 01.
Return from Rishikesh should be planned not earlier than 4 PM on day 04.

Participants from Delhi are recommended to travel by the following trains:

Delhi to Haridwar: 2205 Nzm Dehradun AC Special or 4041 Mussourie Express.
Haridwar to Delhi: 2018 Shatabdi Express ( evening ) or 4042 Mussourie Express.
Railway station transfers can be organized by us if required.

1. Delhi - Haridwar - Srinagar - Bagwan.
2. Bagwan - Beas Ghat.
3. Beas Ghat - Kaudiyala - Marin Drive.
4. Marin Drive to Rishikesh - Haridwar - Delhi.

Alaknanda and Ganga River Expedition:
A self contained multi-day river adventure down the Alaknanda river. This is a rafting experience which is complete with chilled out camping and action packed rapids. The trip is conducted in a self supported manner, implying that all the camping gear/rations etc is transferred along with the expedition team in cargo rafts. We would setup camps on isolated beaches, and would move on the next day after winding up camp and ensuring that we do not leave any trace of our presence behind. This mode of camp stay is most eco-friendly as there is minimum disturbance/impact to wildlife and environment.

Previous rafting and kayaking experience would help This expedition requires a minimum of 6 committed rafters.

Season: February, March, April, May, June, Mid September, October, November.

Day Wise Breakup

Day 1 - Delhi - Haridwar - Srinagar - Bagwan

Early morning pickup from Haridwar/Rishikesh. Transfer by road to Srinagar( 4 hrs ). A short river run today across easy to moderate rapids. Camp is established at a beach near Bagwan.

Day 2 - Bagwan - Beas Ghat

Break camp in morning, and proceed with the river journey. Today we would encounter exciting whitewater section. Paddle across the confluence of Bhagirathi with Alaknanda at Deoprayag. From this place the river is christened as Ganga. Beyond Deoprayag, it is an easy float section to arrive at a beautiful beach called Beas Ghat. Setup camp here. Beas Ghat is huge beach which is fringed with forest on one side and the river on the other.

Day 3 - Beas Ghat - Kaudiyala - Marin Drive

Today we would paddle towards Marin Drive, where we would encounter Daniel's Dip. This rapid is short and can be quite difficult in low volume. We would raft further to negotiate a class III/IV rapid called Wall. After this rapid most of the remaining rapids would be moderate, and we would setup camp at Marin Drive.

Day 4 - Marin Drive to Rishikesh - Haridwar - Delhi

After breakfast, the camp is winded up, and everything is packed in dry bags. The rafts are once again put into the water to continue our river journey. Apart from Wall, Today we would run several exciting class III kind of rapids like "Blind Mice” “Roller Coaster" and "Golf Course". We would finish our trip near the temple town of Rishikesh and transfer to Haridwar railway station and train back to Delhi Tour Ends at Haridwar.
