Safari features: This is an exciting safari which features the annual wildebeest migration at the famous Maasai Mara and wildlife viewing in various national parks which are amongst Kenya’s best wildlife sanctuaries. You will visit the above parks and are likely to see a wide range of wild animal species ranging from the big five, wildebeest, gazelle, zebra, warthog, giraffe, baboons, as well as a wide array of bird life. You will travel with our tour guide/driver in a private 4x4 safari land cruiser and spend the nights in lodges.Optional Hot air Balloon flight in Maasai Mara US$ 450 per person extra (Price is subject to confirmation at the time of booking.)

Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Nairobi - Aberdare National Park

    Upon your arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be received by our Tour Manager who will brief you on your Safari. You will then depart for the Aberdare National Park via Naro Moru, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. You will then spend the afternoon at leisure or taking a game drive till evening when you will return for dinner and overnight stay.

    The Aberdare National Park is an isolated volcanic range that forms the eastern wall of the rift valley. It has diverse moorlands filled with deep ravines cutting through the forested eastern and western slopes, with many clear streams and waterfalls. It is also an important water catchment area, providing water to the Tana and Athi River. The Park is surrounded by an indigenous forest which houses the famous Kimathi Hideout/Mau Mau caves, which were used as a hide out for Mau Mau fighters. The park is also home to most large mammals such as the black rhinos, leopards, serval, different reptiles, a wide variety of insects and endemic bird species.

  • Day 2 : Aberdare National Park

    You will spend the day enjoying game drives in the extensive Aberdare Park. You will return to your lodge for breakfast then proceed for another game viewing drive till lunch. After lunch, you will have the afternoon at leisure relaxing within the park.

    The foothill is covered with huge trees which the higher you go; the more they give way to bamboo forests. You will find icy rivers, rainforests, where elephants, buffaloes and other animals visit you at the floodlit waterholes of The Treetops Lodge. The flora and fauna is quite unique and is not found anywhere else in the country except on Mount Kenya. This is also the home of the monkey eating crowned eagle.

  • Day 3 : Aberdare National Park - Lake Nakuru National Park

    After breakfast you will depart Aberdare National Park for Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for an early lunch at your lodge and afterwards an afternoon game viewing drive and bird watching till evening.

    Dubbed 'the greatest bird spectacle on earth due to the millions of fuchsia-pink flamingo that flock to feed on the teeming algae of its alkaline waters, Lake Nakuru National Park is also an ornithologist's paradise and also a sanctuary for both black and white rhino. Its pink-frosted shores and sky-mirrored waters also yield some of the most evocatively beautiful photo images in Africa. The park offers an incredible 450 different species of water, fish-eating, terrestrial and migratory birds including the pelican, fish eagle, secretary bird, heron, egret, hammerkop and grebe. Established as Kenya's first rhino sanctuary, the park now hosts one of the largest black rhino concentrations in the country while substantial numbers of white rhino have also been introduced. You will have a fantastic view of the Lake while at the Baboon cliff, lion Hill and out of Africa Hill.

  • Day 4 : Lake Nakuru National Park - Maasai Mara Game Reserve

    After breakfast, depart for Maasai Mara arriving in time for check in and lunch at your lodge. After lunch you will go for a game viewing drive till dusk.

    The Maasai Mara, now the 7th wonder of the world and 4th most preferred tourist destination in the world is a home to wildlife in such abundance ad variety that it is difficult to imagine The annual migration of the wildebeest and the zebras starts from the Serengeti as they search for water and pasture while at the same time being followed on their heels by the predators of the savannah; Lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena, and vultures. It hosts over 450 species of animals which includes lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephants.

  • Day 5 : Maasai Mara Game Reserve

    You will spend two days game viewing, which includes going up to the Mara River where the migration of wildebeests and zebras takes place annually from Serengeti. You will have a picnic lunch and afterwards proceed with your game viewing drive till evening. Visitors also have the option of taking a pre-breakfast balloon flight safari, at an extra cost (US$ 450 per person extra).

    In November 2006 the Maasai Mara was named as the New 7th wonder of the world because of what experts termed as "the uniqueness of the area and the preservation it provides to so many species living in harmony". It is understandable because this annual migration is the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth.

    Optional Balloon Flight

    You can opt to carry out your game viewing activity on an adventurous balloon flight over the spectacular Mara at an extra cost. This package includes a bush breakfast in the wild!

  • Day 6 : Maasai Mara Game Reserve

  • Day 7 : Maasai Mara Game Reserve - Nairobi - Amboseli National Park

    After breakfast check out of your lodge and depart the Reserve for Amboseli National Park via Nairobi with a lunch stop over at the famous Carnivore restaurant and arrive at Amboseli in the evening. Check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

    Amboseli is famous for its huge elephant herds. Africa's highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro sits in the upper slopes of Amboseli national park. Mt Kilimanjaro’s snow white peaks lie across the border of Tanzania. Seeing Kilimanjaro hovering above the clouds in the early hours of the morning is quite an experience. For an enthusiastic photographer, taking pictures arising against the dramatic backdrop of the mountain is quite a thrill. Apart from the elephants, buffalos, black rhino and other plain animals are in plenty.

  • Day 8 : Amboseli National Park

    Spend two days exploring the vast lands within the park and looking out for different species of wildlife such as hippos, zebras, wildebeest, impalas as well as more than 400 recorded species of birds such as the kingfishers, the long-necked Africa's Darter, Egyptian geese and a variety of ducks. Other reptiles that inhibit this are include monitor lizards, chameleons, the Egyptian cobra, python, puff adder and black mamba. In the evening return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

    Amboseli lies North West of Mt. Kilimanjaro, on the border with Tanzania. Large concentrations of wildlife occur here in the dry season, making Amboseli a popular touristic destination. The Park embodies five main wildlife habitats which include the open plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush land, swamps and marshland. There is also a temporary lake, Lake Amboseli, that floods during years of heavy rainfall. The Amboseli is famous for its big game and its great scenic beauty. The landscape is dominated by Mount Kilimanjaro and massive numbers of elephants, approximately one thousand elephants. Also, its snowcapped summit dominates the landscape and on a clear day it is easily visible during early mornings and the late afternoons. This makes it a perfect spot for photograph taking.

    After breakfast you will check out from your lodge and depart for Nairobi arriving in time for lunch at a famous Nairobi Restaurant. After lunch you may opt to go for a shopping spree or otherwise be dropped off by your tour guide at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international flight to your next destination.
