Picturesque road, crossing different interesting villages and the land which produces important percentage of “Teff” Ethiopia’s staple food grain, stunning view of the Nile gorge which is stretched in 40kms. En route visit 13th century Debre libanos monastery.
In the morning boat trip to Lake Tana Island namely 14th C Betre mariam church and 14th C Ura Kidanemiheret church at the peninsula and back to hotel for lunch. These churches are unique for their roof that can’t be burnt in time of fire. Their circular form of building with their walls full of fresco, are really interesting and still active church for the Orthodox believers. At the peninsula also will be visited some treasures of this 15th C church with also some antique objects which are at display for visitors.
After noon, After lunch break 40km drive on gravel road to the Nile Falls. Then crossing the Nile river bay boat and walking for some 30 minutes will take us to the fall. This legendary fall in time of rainy season falls to 400m wide.
Morning, 180kms, 1pm-4pm, 3 hours drive on motorway to Gonder, hotel.
After noon, Visit the surrounding of Gonder Castle, the oldest in Africa; the magnificently decorated 17th century church Debrebirhan Silasi.
Founded by King Fasiledes (Fassil) in 1635A.D, has served as imperial capital for 250 years. With its strategic hilltop location at an altitude of 2200m in the southern foothills of the Semien Mountains, Gonder is best known for its 17th century castles, Royal swimming pool and most notably the superbly decorated church of Debre Berhan Selassie which are among Ethiopia’s eight UNESCO’s world heritage list.
City tour includes visiting deferent parts of Addis Ababa (which means New flower in Ethiopian official language Amharic) the world’s third highest capital at an altitude of 2400m, founded by Emperor Menilik II in 1887, with the headquarters of AU (African Union), ECA (economic commission for Africa), many International Organizations over 105 Embassies and with its 4million habitants makes Addis Ababa metropolitan city which is declared as a capital city of Africa.
Before lunch Ethnographic Museum & National Museums which are the best of their type in Africa, after lunch Mercato, the largest open air market in Africa and time for visiting souvenir and artifact shops. At the end from 7pm- 9pm farewell dinner with cultural music show, 9:30pm transfer to Bole International Airport.

Gish-Abay Ethiopia Tours only makes commitments to the Client regarding the services actually sold. When several Clients are registered on the same travel party and one of them cancels his/her trip, the cancellation fees are withdrawn on the sums cashed by Gish-Abay Ethiopia Tours for the entire party regardless of which traveler actually paid. The tour may still take place provided the participants have settled whatever additional service charges might be due prior to departure as a result of modifications required due to the cancellation of one or more travelers.
