Our Trip:
04 Nights / 05 Days all inclusive trip on Jungle Plan. Logistics are very simple with us. The trip starts from Kolkata and ends at Kolkata. Pick up from and back at your doorsteps.

There is no compulsory fixed departure dates. Visitors can decide dates of their own choice. Sundarbans remains open 365 days a year unless there is the Tiger Census which occurs once in every two years usually in December-January for 08 days.

Your visits are our support and contribute to a great extent to our small initiative to support the sustainable development of the local community and the conservation of the forest and the great cats.

Community Development Activities:
In order to assist the local community to have a better quality of life we have introduced host of development projects such as Free Medical Camps, Tailoring training for the ladies Self help group, Education aid to the poor students (Adopt A poor Student)Garments and Medical Banks, Nature Club movements Awareness programmes for students and teachers of local schools. These activities are supported by our individual and institutional patrons and agencies and organizations.

Access: Kolkata- Gathkhali Jetty is connected by good all weather road ( approx 125 Kms )and a 03 hours interesting drive. Gathkhali to Jungle Resort is a 2.5 hrs. cruise.

Seasons: Round the year.

Climate:
October to February: Cold and temperate, March to May-hot and humid.
June to September: Wet and windy. Monsoon cruises are spectacular.

Special Interest: Botany, Ornithology and Ethno-zoology: 180 species of birds including 6 species of Kingfishers, Raptors, Waders, Migratory birds and Ducks, Herons and Storks. Other than some 270 legendary Bengal Tigers and Spotted Deer and Wild Bores. Sundarbans also boasts of the Largest Estuarine Crocodiles, Rhesus Monkeys, Water Monitors, Reptiles and Amphibians, Turtles and Dolphins. The honey collectors and fishermen of the land of "HUNGRY TIDE".

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 : Kolkata - Sundarbans

7.00 A.M: Pick up from City Hotel and transfer to Gathkhali jetty through beautiful countryside's, rural bazaar with stopovers at Local Tea shop and Fishermen's villages.
9.45 A.M: Arrive at Gathkhali. Transfer of luggage and persons to our motorized boat.
10.00 A.M: Briefing and interpretation by our naturalist over Tea/Coffee/Welcome drink followed by 2 hours spectacular cruise through river Hogol, Gomor, Durgaduani and Gumdi. Optional stopover at Gosaba- one of the earliest human settlements of Sundarbans to visit the house of Sir Danniel Hamilton-a Scottish banker who introduced agriculture and initiated the first co-operative movement of India here.
12.30 P.M: On arrival check-in to your Jungle Resort.
13.00 P.M: Hot lunch followed by 3 hours birding and game cruise to Sudhanyakhali watch tower through creeks and canals.
17.30 P.M: Back to Jungle Resort by evening.
19.30 P.M: Dinner and overnight halt.
Day 2 : Kolkata - Sundarbans

7.00 A.M: Morning tea.
7.30 A.M: Breakfast.
8.00 A.M: Full day game cruise and birding tour to Netidhopani and Do banki watch towers. Lunch will be served on board.
17.00 P.M: Return to Jungle Resort.
19.30 P.M: Dinner and overnight halt.

Day 3 : Kolkata - Sundarbans

7.00 A.M: Morning tea.
8.00 A.M: Breakfast.
8.30 A.M: Full day birding and game cruise to Burir Dabri Watch tower. Return to Jungle Resort by sun down. Dinner and overnight halt.

Day 4 : Jharkhali Forest

Visit Jharkhali forest and waterways to watch the wintering water falls. Back to Resort by sun down. Evening experience the traditional local Rural theatre (Bonobibi Yatra) performed by the villagers. The theatre tells interesting story about the Tiger Lord, Forest God and Goddess, fishermen and honey collectors with lot of songs and dances. Overnight at Jungle Resort.
Day 5 : Kolkata - Sundarbans

7.00 A.M: Morning Tea.
8.00 A.M: Breakfast.
9.00 A.M to 11.30 A.M: Guided Village Walk in which participants are encouraged to have a close interaction with the local villagers and their livelihood, Local craft and cuisines, Indigenous farming and household equipments used by the villagers. Guided adventure cruise by manually-oared country boat.
12.00 Noon: Back to Jungle Resort. Lunch and proceed to Gathkhali.
15.00 P.M: Arrive at Gathkhali and transfer to Kolkata by car.
