Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Bhunter

  Meet in Delhi in Afternoon and take bus for Bhunter(500 kms, 13 hrs) Drive from New Delhi to Bhunter by luxury coach. We should preferable take a proper volvo bus becoz we are immediately starting the trek. Spend the night at a hotel in Bhunter for few hours.

• Day 2 : Bhunter - manikaran - barsheni(by bus) - Khirganga(trek)

  We should expect our porters and guides to meet us in Barsheni. Barsheni -Khir Ganga (4 -5 hrs) (Open ground)The trek through the forest to Khir Ganga (2920 Mts.) is a pleasant walk except for one short steep climb in between. Khir Ganga is a Holy place with a hot water spring, small temple of Lord Shiva and a bathing tank. This is the last chance to take a hot water bath on the trek.

• Day 3 : Khir Ganga-TundaBhoj (4-5 hrs)

  The trail is still within the limit of pine trees and is heavily wooded on this section also. TundaBhoj (3400 Mts.) is the upper limit for the pine forests! and now on there is an abundance of Bhoj ( Birch) trees. Camp in a green meadow. Pass through beautiful grazing grounds of Mandror and Nihara on the way.

• Day 4 : TundaBhoj- Thakur Kuan (4-5 hrs)

  This is the first challenging day on the trek. The ground is rocky for around 2 kms and have a somewhat tricky and risky slab to cross. The trail is steep and hard in some sections close to Thakur Kuan (3400 Mts.). This area falls within the Kanawer Wildlife Sanctuary and one may encounter small Himalayan Brown Bears at lower elevations and Wild Sheep or the Snow Leopard at higher altitudes. Towards south is a beautiful peak
  Kullu Eiger (5664).

• Day 5 :

  Thakur Kuan- Odi thach (5-6 hours)

• Day 6 : Odi Thach -Mantalai Lake ( 6-7 hrs)

  Trek through flower speckled meadows to mysterious Mantalai Lake. There are some very unusual rock bridges on the way to Mantalai and there is an abundance of quartz and semi precious! gems around here. Taking rock souvenirs from here is strongly discouraged.

• Day 7 : Mantalai Lake-Base Camp (6-7 hrs)

  The trekking is challenging, over a glacier and loose scree slopes. There is a beautiful grassy camp (4500 Mts. approx.) at the base of the Pass.

• Day 8 : An extra day. Acclimatisation/RESERVE/REST

  Rest at the base of the Pin Parvati Pass and cross pass if the weather permits.

• Day 9 : Base Camp-Pin Parvati Pass-Camp (5-6 hrs)

  The approach to the Pass is over a crevassed snowfield and all precaution is necessary on this section. Everybody is roped up as the crevasses may not be easily visible. After the pass descend over a steep scree slope to reach the first camp site in the Pin Valley (4500 Mts.)

  • Themes : Hill Stations & Valleys

• Day 10 : Base Camp

  Camp to ChingPut Maidan. Cross the river and
  reach base of bhaba pass.

• Day 11 : Base Camp

  Cross bhaba pass and camp at other side at Fushtirang.. this is the beautiful campsite as good as switzerland that was mentioned by Avid.

• Day 12 : Base Camp

  Rest.. Chill out.. fart and relax.. We have been spending money, time and drilling out ourselves just for some beautiful location.

• Day 13 : Trek to muling ( 5- 6 hours)..

  or to the roadhead at Kafnu (another 3 -4 hours).

• Day 14 : Kafnu - Sarahan

  Take a jeep to Sarahan (85 kms. 3-4 hours). Take a bus from Sarahan to Shimla same day (190 kms) or on the next day.

• Day 15 : Departure

  Reach Delhi those who want to stay back for a few days can rest at Sangla valley.
