Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrive in Delhi

    Arrive in Delhi where our company representative stands to receive you. Our representative, knowing very well that you are tired after a long journey, will help you in completing the formalities quickly. Thereafter, he will transfer you to the hotel where you will receive a traditional Indian welcome.

    The co-operative hotel staff will also make sure that your luggage and other belongings are transferred into your room without any hassles. Once, in the room, you can refresh yourself. Have your meal and go off to sleep if you want. Alternatively, you can also listen to some music or watch a TV show.

    In the evening, our representative will meet you and give a brief of the tour. Thereafter, you will proceed to enjoy a lively cultural or theatrical performance at the any of the following - the Siri Fort Auditorium, Lalit Kala Academy, Kamayani Auditorium, Triveni Kala Sangam or Indian Habitat Centre.Religious Journey

    Return to the hotel and stay overnight in Delhi.

  • Day 2 : Delhi

    Delhi happens to be the first of the Golden Triangle destinations and today you will explore the various attractions that make it so special. So have your breakfast early and move out of the hotel. Attractions in Old Delhi will take much of your time today. Visit the imposing Red Fort or the Lal Quila which was built by the great Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan so as to concentrate the power of his kingdom in one monument. Apart from the palaces and halls inside the fort, also pay a visit to the ASI Museum which houses an interesting collection of royal items.

    Next, visit the Jama Masjid which is the only building that catches your attention in the vicinity of the grand Red Fort. The mosque was also constructed by Shah Jahan. Chandni Chowk, the market in this area gives you an idea about what crowd actually means in India.

    Move over and visit the Birla Temple, also known as the Lakshmi Narayan Temple. Next, visit the Jantar Mantar, one of the five observatories built by the Rajput ruler Sawai Raja Jai Singh. Go around and have a look at the instruments that quietly tell the tale of a young prince and his passion for arts and science. Quiet close by are Janpath and the Connaught Place, two areas where you can shop for a variety of goods.

    If you are not interested in shopping, you can very well pick up an activity of your choice. Later, return to your hotel and stay overnight.

  • Day 3 : Delhi

    It is yet another day to explore the attractions of the capital city of India. So, have your breakfast and set out on yet another exciting day.

    Your first destination will be the Lodi Gardens, one of those few destinations in Delhi where development has not adversely affected the greenery. Numerous green plants and trees provide a perfect beginning to the day ahead. You will see numerous joggers as well as old people enjoying a cool weather, if you reach there really early. If not, you can see tourists exploring various tombs of the Sayyid and Lodhi rulers situated within the garden area.

    Move over from the greenery of the gardens to experience the sacredness of a temple complex. The newly constructed Akshardham Temple will delight you with its vast area, exquisite carvings and a tranquil atmosphere. The temple complex has an IMAX theatre, a Swami Narayan Temple and lush manicured lawn that is really a treat for your visual senses. Roam around the temple complex and discover big and small beauties at every step.

    Later, in the evening, visit the Rashtrapati Bhavan and India Gate, two of the most important structures of modern India. Stroll around at the India Gate, enjoy a boat ride, blow soap bubbles and lick an ice cream. The illumination at night is simply wonderful and gives you a feeling of relaxation.

    Return to your hotel and stay overnight in Delhi.

  • Day 4 : Delhi - Jaipur

    Today, you will set of on a journey to the next destination in the Golden Triangle, Jaipur. The capital city of Rajasthan was founded by Maharaja Jai Singh in the year 1727 AD and since then the city has attracted innumerable tourists.

    Jaipur is around 259 km away from Delhi and on the way to it by car, you will stop by at Neemrana to have your lunch and relax. Go around a little bit and observe the tranquility that prevails in this small Rajasthani place.

    As you enter Jaipur, tranquility will give way to liveliness. Bustling streets, colorful bazaars, old and new houses and shops will greet you at every step. Freshen up after you reach your hotel. Relax for the rest of the day. In the evening stroll around in the surrounding area and interact with the locals to know more about the city. Alternatively, visit the Johri Bazaar with our guide.

    Enjoy your dinner along with the colorful and vibrant Rajasthani folk performances. Stay overnight in Jaipur.

  • Day 5 : Jaipur

    Get ready for an exciting day wherein you will discover the royalty of the city.

    Your day begins with a trip to the Amber Fort which was once the capital of the Jaipur rulers. The fort is around 11 km from the city of Jaipur and is located on a hillside overlooking a lake. Walking upto the fort takes around ten minutes, however, you will opt for a way that is regal. Ride on the back of an elephant upto the fort and feel like a Rajput king of an era gone by.

    After exploring the interiors of the Amber Fort, drive to the famous City Palace Complex. The Palace complex occupies two out nine sections into which Jai Singh divided the city while laying its foundation. The palace was originally used for official purposes, however, today, a large portion is occupied by Sawai Man Singh II Museum. Tour round the museum and see the exhibits that range from royal costumes, two huge silver vessels, weapons, miniature paintings, crystal chandelier and copies of Hindu scriptures. Quiet close by is the Hawa Mahal, an intrinsic part of the City Palace complex yet demanding its own identity.

    Post Lunch, you have the option of either going in for more sightseeing or shop around for ethnic Rajasthani goods. In case you pick up the former option, our guide will show you the other attractions in and around the city - Birla Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Nahargarh Fort, Moti Dungri and Sisodia Garden.

    Later, return to your hotel and stay overnight in Jaipur.

  • Day 6 : Jaipur - Agra

    Today, after breakfast drive to Agra which is around 250 km away. Enroute stop by to explore the city of Fatehpur Sikri. The Mughal Emperor envisioned this place as his capital, however, the shortage of water compelled him to abandon the place. Roam around and examine the fine blend of the Mughal and the Hindu architecture.

    Proceeding on your journey reach Agra and check in at your hotel. Later, pay a visit to the Agra Fort which was initiated by Emperor Akbar, though additions were made by succeeding Mughal emperors as well. Explore the Diwan-e Aam, Diwan -e- Khas, Musamman Burj and the Jahangir's Palace. Move across the train tracks of the Delhi Gate of Agra Fort to reach the Jama Masjid. Near this place is the Kinari Bazaar, the old market place. Have a look at the items on sale here and pick up the ones you like. If you are left with time, also pay a visit to Shilpgram which is a crafts village and an open air emporium. Do not expect reasonable prices here. They are always on the higher side here, nonetheless, the quality and the variety of goods is extremely good.

    Return to your hotel and stay overnight in Agra.

  • Day 7 : Agra - Mathura - Vrindavan

    Wake up early today as you just cannot afford to miss the glowing beauty of the Taj Mahal as the sun rises. The white marble structure seems to bathe in the golden rays of sun. Walk around the complex while our guide will capture some beautiful photographs of yours with the Taj.

    Seeing the Taj is such a unique experience that you will not want to leave the premises, however, more destinations lie in wait for you. So, return to your hotel and move ahead to the next destination, Mathura. Mathura is at a distance of around 50 km from Agra and is extremely sacred for the Hindus. It is considered to be the birth place of Lord Krishna.

    After checking in at your hotel, move out to explore the religious attractions of the place. Visit the Shree Krishna Janambhoomi, a place considered as the actual spot where Lord Krishna was born and the Rangbhoomi where the god killed Kansa. Also pay a visit to the Archaeological Museum and enjoy exhibits that belong to the Mathura School of Art.

    Vrindavan is at a distance of around 10 km from Mathura and is the place where Lord Krishna spent his childhood days. The place is a storehouse of temples with as many as 4000 of them spread over an area of 10 km. Offer your prayers at the Krishna Balarama Mandir, Sri Sri Radha Govindaji Mandir and Sri Sri Radha Raman Mandir.

    Return to Mathura and stay overnight.

  • Day 8 : Mathura - Haridwar

    Today, in the morning leave for Haridwar, yet another sacred Hindu pilgrimage city. Haridwar is believed to be blessed by trinity of Lord Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma. The name Haridwar traces its origin to Har (the deity of Kedarnath) and Hari (the deity of Badrinath). Dwar means gate. Hence, Haridwar means the gateway to the shrines of Badrinath and Kedarnath.

    Check in at your hotel that is situated on the banks of river Ganges. Visit the Gangadwara temple and the the Daksheswara temple. The latter temple is believed to be the same place which Daksha performed his yagna but did not invite Shiva, husband of his daughter Sati. Listen to the complete story as you go around the temple.

    In the evening, participate in the Aarti ceremony at the Hari ki Pauri, one of the most sacred ghats in India. The chanting of mantras and sounds of ringing bells create an absolutely magical atmosphere. Immediately after the Aarti, float oil lamps in the river water along with other devotees. The oil lamps and offerings in form of flowers is arranged for you.

    Return to your hotel and stay overnight in Haridwar.

  • Day 9 : Haridwar - Rishikesh

    Rishikesh is just an hours drive from Haridwar. So, today you will pay a visit to this place which is considered the starting point for the journey of the Char Dham - Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.

    Here, after check in at your hotel, you will see the Bharata Temple dedicated to Lord Narayana and Lakshman Jhula where the younger brother of Lord Rama, Lakshmana performed his penance. Also take a holy dip in the Triveni Ghat, the main bathing ghat of Rishikesh.

    Later, drive to the Vashistha Gufa, a place where the renowned sage Vashistha meditated. The calmness of the place will definitely touch your heart.

    Return to the Triveni Ghat and participate in the aarti that is performed in respect of River Ganges every evening.

    Stay overnight in Rishikesh.

  • Day 10 : Rishikesh

    Rishikesh is also known for its yoga and meditation classes. So, today you will enroll for yoga and meditation classes in an ashram of Rishikesh and take early morning classes. Yoga and meditation sessions have a tremendous positive effect on your physical and mental health. After the session, you will feel relaxed and refreshing energy in your body will replace any form of weariness.

    Have your breakfast and thereafter listen to lectures revolving around yoga and meditation. This session will help you a lot in knowing about the various advantages of yoga. At the end of it, you might as well be tempted to elongate your stay at Rishikesh so as to enjoy a few more yoga sessions.

    The day is free for you to roam around the city and explore its small attractions on your own. Post tea time, be a part of the yoga and meditation session again.

  • Day 11 : Delhi

    Today morning, leave for Delhi which is around 224 km from Rishikesh. Reach Delhi and catch a flight back home. The memories of this delightful journey will stay forever with you.
