Climate & Geography
The climate of Slovakia remains between the temperate and continental climate zones. Summers are relatively warm, while winters are cold, cloudy and humid. The temperature in the country never goes below ?20°C or above 37°C. The mountainous North weather conditions are completely different from the plains of South. The country’s warmest regions are its capital region and southern Slovakia where the temperatures may increase up to 30°C in summer, and sometimes mat touch 37°C. During night, the temperature remains around 20°C. The daily average temperature in winter ranges from ?5°C to 10°C, but never dips below -10°C. Summer in Northern Slovakia is usually mild, while winters are colder in the mountains, where the snow usually lasts until March or even April.
