The Ntendeka Wilderness Area, though small in area, is a prominent area of wildlife. The topography of the Ntendeka Wilderness Area is varied with the rivers forming valleys. This difference in the topography, in its turn, gives rise to a diverse range of climate and temperatures. The diverse range of climate and topography results in a diverse range of flora and fauna, which provides the star attractions. The Secretary Bird among the birds, the Vervet Monkey among the mammals, and the tall forest waterwood among the flora, are some of the popular sights of the Ntendeka Wilderness Area. A variety of animals living in the jungles, around 200 species of birds, and over 180 species of shrubs and trees make this area an important stop for the wildlife tourist. The fact that the small size of the area makes it possible to explore it on foot is an added advantage. The Ntendeka Wilderness Area has been a protected area since 1905.
