Sunburn

Sunburn can affect a person when he suffers from skin burns, skin redness, body pain, blisters and headache while swimming or roaming at beachside. Excessive exposure to sunburn can lead to skin cancer, skin aging and several other skin diseases. Therefore, apply ointments or sunscreen with SPF above 15 + rating. Try to get fresh aloe from plant, cut it and squeeze the golden yellow juice and apply on affected skin. For sever sunburns seek medical treatment.

Cramping

Cramping is another health problem suffered by travelers at beaches. Generally leg and abdominal cramping occurs due to excessive swimming. Mild and gentle massage on affected area can help a lot. If problem still persists, seek a doctor.

Heat Exhaustion

Overtiredness, vomiting, fatigue, shallow breathing, pale skin and plentiful sweating are symptoms of heat exhaustion. Prefer moving an affected person to cool place and make him/her sip liquids to regain consciousness and progress.

Direct sunstroke

Sunstroke at beaches can lead to immensely high fever, dry skin and rapid heart beat. Excessive sunstrokes could lead to brain damage and death if the body is not cooled rapidly. Immediately move the casualty to coolest location and apply cool and wet compresses or wrap him up in wet sheets. Place ice packs at his wrists and ankles, under armpits and on the neck area to cool larger blood vessels. In case of shallow breathing, do provide mouth to mouth breathing. Do seek medical attention under such condition.

Stay hydrated

Always remain hydrated on beaches. Carry and drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration and other sever health problems. Avoid caffeine and alcoholic beverages at beaches as it can adversely affect you health. Never have beer as it leads to dehydration.

Foot Burn

Wear proper foot protection to avoid foot burns, cuts and stings on beaches. People tend to get affected by foot burn on rocky, stony and pebbly beach surface. Wear comfortable shoes and sandals to avoid burns and cuts.

Eye Protection

Never forget to carry sunglasses with you while being at beachside. Sunglasses help protecting your eyes from harmful and detrimental ultraviolet (UV) rays. Always buy genuine sunglasses with absorption capacity of at least 90 percent of harmful UV rays.

Safe Drinkware

Carry safe and durable drinkware or unbreakable tumblers along with you to carry beverages, sodas, juices and drinking water. Prefer drinkware made of polycarbonate material as it is unbreakable, durable and more insusceptible.

Safe Diving

Do check impediments and water depth before diving. Never dive headfirst as you can get severe, lifetime injuries, including paralysis of the lower half of the body as well as death. Always go feet first and be careful while bodysurfing.
