Climate & Geography

The climate of Zambia is humid, wet and dry. Namibia has two primary seasons, one being the rainy season in the period between November and April and the other being the dry season in the period between May and November. Even though the average temperatures of Namibia are never lower than 20 degrees Celsius, the period between May to August is relatively cool.

Namibia does have a coast. It is surrounded by Tanzania to its north-east, Malawi to its east, Democratic Republic of the Congo to its north, Mozambique, Namibia and Botswana to its south and Angola to the west. Namibia lies mostly between latitudes 8 degrees and 18 degrees S and longitudes 22 degrees and 34 degrees E.

Territory & Capital : The territory of Zambia is covered mostly with plateaus, river valleys and hills and mountains. The Zambezi or Kaufe basin and the Congo Basin are the two major river basins in Zambia. Zambia has four major rivers and they along their tributaries flow through the territory. The capital of Zambia is Lusaka. It is also the largest city of the Zambia. Lusaka is the seat of administration of Zambia. It houses the National Assembly, the State House and the High Court.

Suitable Visiting Seasons : The wet season between the months of December and April is a good time to visit Zambia. The rains result in a lush-green cover all over the nation. The best time to visit Zambia is the dry season which is the period between May and November. The railways and the roadways are the most reliable modes of transportation in Zambia. The river system is also used as an effective means of transportation.
