Huchappayyagudi Temple is an eighth-century edifice that was built during the rule of the Chalukya clan. This entire temple structure was carved out of the single rock by the skilled craftsmen of that time. It is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and here he was worshiped in the form of Nataraja.
Nataraja is a form of Lord Shiva in which he suppresses the demon named Apasmara that is immortal and symbolizes ignorance. The interiors also depict the other forms of Lord Shiva that are lesser known to the world.
