Alfred Park

Also popular as Chandra Shekhar Azad Park, Alfred Park is a public park in Allahabad. It spans a total area of 133 acres and is known as the biggest public park in Allahabad. It is a remarkable tourist attraction and is visited by the people of all age groups on a large scale. This park also houses the statue of the Indian freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad who laid his life at this place.

1) Alfred Park was built to mark the visit of Prince Alfred in the 18th century
2) This park has a memorial that is built to commemorate the unforgettable sacrifice of  Chandra Shekhar Azad
3) Prayag Sangeet Samiti, an institute for learning classical music is also located on the park premises
4) A public library known by the name of Thornhill Mayne Memorial is also located within the premises of the park
