Alopi Devi Mandir is a Hindu shrine located in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. It is a Shakti Peeth in Hinduism that is frequented by the devotees on a large scale, especially on the occasion of Navratri. This temple enshrines no deity. A wooden carriage is placed inside the temple and people worship it in the form of the Goddess. According to the legend, Lord Vishnu cut the body of Sati to provide a relief to the grieving Lord Shiva. Using the chakra, Sati's body was cut into 51 pieces and her thumb of left hand fell at this place and disappeared. It gave this shrine the name of Alopi Devi.
