Day 1 :
Guests are met upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, from where the tour travels to Table Mountain for the cable car ride (weather permitting). The trip to the top is an outing in itself, as you are safely and gently transported from the lower cable station to the top of the mountain and visa versa. The journey takes a little more than 5 minutes and the high tech rotating cable car offers the best views of the city. There is a restaurant atop the mountain where you can enjoy a light lunch (own account) before heading back down. We travel to the overnight where the rest of the afternoon is spent unpacking and relaxing before the adventures begin.
Day 2 :
After breakfast we head for the foot of the Table Mountain Reserve to experience one of Cape Town’s top adrenaline attractions. A 4 x 4 vehicle will take you high up in to the mountain above Cape Town where the views and the adventure opens up a birds eye view of the city. From here you will be as high as 155 meters from the ground and some of the slides as long as +- 500 metres amongst the fynbos and vineyards. The tour is approximately 1h30 – 2h00.
From here we travel approximately an hour and a half to Hermanus where we will stop for a light lunch (own account). The quad biking waterfall trail awaits, this trail includes the adventure trail which takes you into the Hottentots Holland mountains allowing you to take spectacular photographs of the breathtaking views. One of the stops on this trail is high up in the mountains overlooking the region. You then continue to a waterfall where in summer you can take a swim before heading back.
The tour makes its way to Gansbaai where we will have dinner and spend the evening.
Day 3 :
We rise early for the shark diving experience. Approximately 3 hours is spent out at sea. Tea/coffee and a light continental breakfast is served upon arrival at the Kleinbaai offices. A hot lunch is served upon our return (lasagne, rolls and greek salad). Snacks, drinks and sweets on-board the boat, shark expert on board each tour, educational information and safety briefing, diving equipment and wet-suits for divers, surface viewing for non-divers.
We will have dinner and spend the last evening in Gansbaai.
Day 4 :
After breakfast, we travel approximately 3 hours to Mossel Bay. The tandem skydiving offers you a scenic airplane flight over Mossel Bay and the Outeniqua Mountains for 25 minutes, a free fall for 35 seconds at 220 km/hr and a chance to fly under your parachute for 5 – 6 minutes. No tedious training courses, just a quick briefing and you’re off to the adventure of your life.
After a light lunch (own expense) we make our way to George for more adventures.
Kloofing is the South African term for “Canyoning” where one descends down a river within a canyon or ravine. This may entail scrambling/climbing over rocks/boulders, big jumps, abseiling down waterfalls and wading/swimming. You are provided with a wet suit, helmet and a life jacket for this activity, and a harness when needed. All trips include refreshments on route. The Kaaimans Kloofing Tour is 3 hours.
The tour travels just 15 minutes to Wilderness where we will enjoy dinner and overnight.
Day 5 :
After a delicious breakfast, we depart the Wilderness for Knysna.
Hold on tight…………. for a safe high speed ride on the unique RIBadventure power boat. Apart from the pristine estuary, an adventure through the infamous Knysna Heads will be the ultimate boating experience. Once out at sea, the world is your oyster, and one can experience a vast array of bird and marine life, as well as breathtaking scenery including a unique view of the Heads from out at sea.
A quick 30 minutes travelling takes us into Plettenberg Bay. We will enjoy a light lunch (own expense) and then book into our overnight.
After lunch, we take a trip though Nature’s Valley where you can view the forest where scenes from the movie “Avatar” were filmed. We make our way down to the beach where you can take a swim in the ocean, a walk on the rocks or simply relax in the sun.
Day 6 :
We rise, not too early, enjoy breakfast and make our way to Bloukrans for the bungy jump from the world’s highest bungy bridge.
We relax and enjoy lunch (own expense).
Meeting point is at Central Beach, where you are taken on an exciting boat trip by Tender, through the waves, to meet Ocean Rhythm, the 44 foot sailing catamaran and her crew. We then pop some bubbly and set sail in the protected waters of the Bay towards Robberg Nature Reserve, a national monument and world heritage site.
You will encounter regular sightings of birds, whales, sharks, dolphins, a large seal colony that offers hours of entertainment and lots more. When conditions permit, we take a quick snorkel or swim at the wreck. Snacks are included on all charters. The trip is approximately 2 – 2 ½ hours.
Day 7 :
After breakfast we make our way to Plett Game Reserve which is now home to all five of Africa’s famous Big 5, with the recent arrival of elephants to complement the buffalos, rhinos, leopards and lions. Experience the magic of the African bush with a horse safari on a 2,200 hectare reserve at the foothills of the Tsitsikamma Mountains.
We stop for lunch (own expense) before heading off for the skydive. The tour enjoys a 20 minute plane flight to 10,000 ft, then exit attached by harness to a qualified instructor. Experience the rush of a 35 second free fall. Captured on DVD by request (cost not included).
The tour travels back to The Crags for a living forest experience you will never forget. Birds of Eden is the largest single dome free-flight aviary in the world housing almost 3500 birds of over 200 different species. Covering a 2.3 hectare area of natural forests, streams and dams, with over a kilometre of walkways, visitors can experience the wonder of seeing previously captive birds flying free and living natural lives. Visits are self-guided and you are free to wander at your own pace.
Jukani is the home of rescued apex predators including all of the big cats; lion, tiger, jaguar and leopard together with cheetah, cougar, caracal, wild dog and other apex predators. Rare white lions and tigers and a black leopard also enjoy the large natural enclosures set in 17 hectares of forest and grassland. Tours led by expert rangers last approximately one hour.
Day 8 :
After a scrumptious breakfast, we head off to Plett Airport for an aerobatic flight. Push the limits in an action packed 10 minute introductory training flight that will see you tumbling end over end and hanging onto your seat as you experience high “G” manoeuvres. Be exhilarated to the extreme!! All flights and manoeuvres are tailored to your nerves, tolerance and comfort levels. View the world from a truly amazing perspective; your appetite for adventure will never be the same again.
The tour takes the 2 hour 38 minute drive to Port Elizabeth International Airport where we say our goodbyes and you continue on your onward journey.
