Start with a visit to the cloud forest for a dose of bird watching and of Costa Rica small town and farm culture, and then continue to the wonderful and golden Ocotal Beach, well known for great sport fishing and scuba diving.
A representative from a car rental company will meet you at the Juan Santamaría International Airport and provide transportation to the Car Rental office to pick up a Daihatsu Terios 4x4. Then, you are off to drive to San Ramon, where your cloud forest lodge awaits you!
Los Angeles Cloud Forest Private Biological Reserve is a unique experience for birdwatchers. The cloud Forest seems a mystical being; an alien presence shrouded in a cloud of mystery that is the habitat to a variety o flora and fauna similar to Monteverde. The air currents from the Northern plains join with the Pacific and Atlantic to fuse over Villa Blanca, creating the rare climatic conditions for a Cloud Forest.

The Cultural & Historical Tour is both educational and picturesque at the same time. San Ramon is the city of poets and birthplace of three previous presidents. Most famous was Don Pepe Figueres, the president who abolished Costa Rica’s military and established its current democracy. A photo gallery in his honor, plus the nearby Church of San Ramón and Central Market, are part of this popular tour hosted by Villa Blanca guides who grew up in the community.
At night take a Hike through the cloud forest. Walk around with your head in the clouds as you step into … the heart of the cloud forest with our Nature Interpreters who will unveil a secret world of rich tropical life along well-designed user-friendly trails. Located within the hotel property, and surrounded by the Los Angeles Cloud Forest Reserve, each designated trail was chosen to showcase a variety of tropical flora and fauna in this incredibly diverse biosphere, part of only 2.5 % of the planet’s remaining cloud forests. Mr. Oswald a half German, half Tico, decided to immigrate to Costa Rica in the early 1950’s in search of a more peaceful place to live, yet he found more… great nature, great weather and love! He got married with a Tica and started his own business in downtown San Jose importing motorcycles such as BMW, Norton, Triumph, BSA and Horex. Later he continue his venture in his motorcycle, riding the unwinding roads of Central America and around the United States, only with the company of his bike, exploring cultures and searching for new ideas, a free spirit, he was able to ride the entire American continent enjoying the most wonderful scenery. He participated in rallies throughout the United States such as the BMWMOA among others being his last race at age 82.
