Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Guest Picked Up/ Agra Arrival

  Guest picked up in the morning and we arrive at Agra. Upon arrival we take a hotel. After rest and refreshment we drive straight to the wonderful Taj Mahal.
  
  Taj Mahal: The world famous monument is one of the most glorious buildings built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan between 1632-1654 AD. He built it in memory of his most favourite wife Mumtaz Mahal and it took 17 years to be completed. The death so devastated the Emperor that all his hair and beard were said to have become snow white within a few months after the fateful event. The structure is unique as the four sides are perfectly identical. It creates an astonishingly mirrored image on each side. Night rest.

• Day 2 : Sightseeing/ Back Tour

  Agra fort: The massive Agra Fort is a UNESCO world heritage site which is a red sandstone structure with great parts. It was built primarily as a military structure by Akbar. It was transformed into a palace by his son, Shah Jahan. A tragic story is attached with this great fort. It is believed that Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb for 8 years in the octagonal tower, ‘Mussaman Burj’ of Red Fort where he died ultimately. After exploring Agra fort and baby Taj we drive straight to Fatehpur Sikri.
  
  
  
  Itimād-ud-Daulah (Baby Taj): A beautiful Mughal mausoleum and amazing red sandstone structure, this is a remarkable monument. Itmad-ud-Daulah means ‘Pillar of the Government’. Jahangir conferred this title to his father-in-law Ghiyas Beg. Baby Taj was built by Noor Jahan in the memory of her father. Though it is not as stunning as Taj Mahal but more delicate in appearance due to extensive use of finely carved marble lattice screens. After exploring Agra fort and baby Taj we drive straight to Fatehpur Sikri.
  
  
  
  Fatehpur Sikri: This famous city, built by Akbar, is one of the most beautiful specimens of Mughal Architecture. It was abandoned over scarcity of water. Here we see Buland Darwaja, Diwan-i-Khas and Tomb of Sheikh Salim Chisti.
  
  
  Buland Darwaja: This 54 metres structure is one of the tallest gateways in the world. It was built by Akbar to celebrate his victory over Gujarat. It opens from 6 am to 6 pm daily.
  
  
  Tomb of Sheikh Salim Chisti: This place is a white marble structure showcasing excellence in craftsmanship. This is a highly revered shrine where devotees belonging to different faiths gather to get wishes fulfilled.
  
  
  After exploring major spots we begin back trip to Dehradun for drop at preferred location.
