9:00 AM: We begin sightseeing. We see Robber's Cave, Forest Research Institute and Tapovan

Robber's Cave: Also known as Guchhupani, this is a famous rock formation which is a very popular picnic spot. It is about 600 meters long cave with a river inside it. A natural cave formation where streams flow inside. It is a very romantic location owing to its beauty and environs.


Forest Research Institute: This globally renowned institute is run by Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education. It is very famous in the whole world in the area of forestry. It has a well maintained museum on forestry with sections like silviculture museum, social forestry museum, pathology museum, timber museum and non-wood forest products museum. Scenic beauty of this place attracts visitors. It opens from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm and remains closed on all Gazetted holidays.


Tapovan: A quaint place on the banks of Ganga, it is a sacred spot for the devotees surrounded by deep green forest. Sound of river flow makes the whole ambiance very comforting which heals stress. Tourists visit this place to feel the positive vibes. It is an illustrious spot for spiritual healing. Lunch


2:00 PM: We see Sahastradhara, Tapkeshwar temple and Darbar Shri Guru Ram Rai

Sahastradhara: A nine metres waterfall that attracts the tourists due to its pristine charm. A Sulphur spring is also famous which is known for medicinal value as it is believed that it cures any skin disease.


Tapkeshwar Temple: An ancient Shiv temple that attracts devotees in large numbers. A unique part of it is that water droplets from rocks fall on the ‘Shiva Lingam’ which gives it a spectacular look.


Darbar Shri Guru Ram Rai: It is very famous pilgrimage place for Sikhs. Devotees from all over the world visit this spot. In fact, Dehradun derives its name from the historical fact that Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji, the eldest son of the Seventh Sikh Guru Har Rai Ji, set up his ‘dera’ (camp) in ‘dun’ (valley) in 1676. This 'Dera' 'Dun' became Dehradun later.
