Gosainkunda Janai festival trek is unique and one of the best pilgrimage trail in Langtang Himalayan ranges. The festival is celebrate on the full noon day in August in the lake. The Gosaikunda pilgrimage trek climbs more steeply through farmland and above the tree line up an alpine ridge that offers a vast Himalayan panorama, to reach a rocky bowl studded with scared high altitudes lakes. Gosaikunda hiking gives you the opportunity to get right in among the Himalayan peaks and to get off-the-beaten-track, walking through some fascinatingly remote and relatively unpopulated areas.
The sacred lakes of Gosainkunda situated here a much-revered Hindu pilgrimage site. Gosainkunda Lake is believed to have been created by Lord Shiva when he thrust his Trishul (trident) into a mountain to extract water so that he could cool his burning throat after swallowing poison which threatened to destroy the world. There are 108 Kundas in this area and mainly visible from the routes are Saraswati Kunda, Bhairab Kunda, Surya Kunda and Gosaikunda is the famous and most important one. Every year, these sacred places are visited by thousands of Hindu Pilgrims during August.
The main inhabitants of Gosaikunda region are Tamang and Sherpa, an origin of Tibetan, whose religion, culture, languages, and dress are similar to the Tibetan people. Gosaikunda trekking offers an ideal trek for those without much time but wishes to experience Nepal’s unique combination of cultures, landscapes, stunning mountain and diverse wildlife and vegetation.

Day 1 : Arrival At Kathmandu Airport
We will meet you at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to your hotel. When you have had your time to settle in and freshen up after your long fight, you will be invited to visit our office for a briefing about your program. You will have a meeting with your trekking guide and discuss the equipment needed for the trekking and we will process for the trekking permits. If you arrive at night we will have the same discussion in next day morning after your breakfast
Day 2 : A Full Day Sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu, the Capital Valley
The very next morning, after breakfast you will leave for a full day sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley. You can visit sacred Pashupatinath Temple and Swyambhunath, very ancient and essentially enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage sites. The biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhnath and the fine arts and historical architecture of Kathmandu Durbar Square reflecting the ancient Nepalese culture are highlighted on our guided tour. On return to your hotel you will have time to explore the local area, have dinner and perhaps take a leisurely stroll through the popular streets.
Day 3 : Drive Kathmandu to Dhunche
It will take some 7 hrs by bus or by private car. The administrative headquarters of the region, Dhunche is fairly pleasnt place. This is the main entrance point to the Langtang national park. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Dhunche.
Day 4 : Dhunche to Chandanbari
You will climb all the way in the jungle. Chandanbari is small town with few lodges and Monastery. The Cheese factory here is the oldest in Nepal.
Day 5 : Chandanbari to Gosaikunda Lake (4460m) Via Lauribinayak
The trail today takes two parts. Initially the trail climbs steeply up a ridge that marks a transition zone between rich, moist mountain forests and dry scrub vegetation on the slopes. The trail to LauriBinayak (3920m) is steep & continues for three hours. We follow a rugged trail with dramatic views to the west; Manaslu range, Ganesh Himal range, Tibetan peaks and to the north also across the valley is Langtang Lirung.
From LauriBinayak, the trail ascends now in alpine country above the tree line. Cross a small ridge to see first view of the holy lake of Gosaikunda. There are about a dozen lakes around Gosaikunda Basin, the main three being Saraswatikunda, Bhairabkunda and Gosaikunda. Hundreds of pilgrims come here to worship and bathe during the full-moon festival every August.
Day 6 : Gosaikunda to Sing Gompa
Trek down back to Sing Gompa for about 4 and half hour working. The trail descends all the way to Sing Gompa passing LauriBinayak with magnificent mountain views and forests. Also you can enjoy the back views of magnificent mountains with returning path.
Day 7 : Sing Gompa to Dhunche (1950m)
The trail begins with descend through pine, silver oak and rhododendrons forests with marijuana plants reaching to the tiny village of Deurali (1660m). Then begin the steep down journey from the ridge crossing wooden Bridge over the Sing Gompa Stream. Follow the road uphill that follows the south bank of Trisuli Ganga through the fields and pastures. From this point, our path goes even through some human settlements and reaches Dhunche, the headquarters of Rasuwa district.
Day 8 : Dhunche to Kathmandu (1320m)
Drive back to Kathmandu by bus which is about 7-8 hours journey. It is a pleasant drive back to Kathmandu enjoying the natural varieties of Nepal. You will have lunch on the way bus stop stations.
Day 9 : Farewell Departure
Pack up your entire luggage and check for anything you left. This can be the last minute preparation to leave. We will drop you to the International airportto catch your flight back to your home and wish for your Safe journey.
