Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 :

  We will drive from the city of Cusco to Patabamba, a little community located above the Sacred Valley of the Incas at 3886 m/ 12746 ft. From there, we will follow a trail which will take us to the small community of Qenqo and then the trail ascends to a pass at 4066 m/ 13336 ft from where we will have magnificent views of the Urubamba mountain chain. The trail now will descend into a narrow valley passing through another little village.
  
  Just beyond the village the valley narrows dramatically where a series of Inca steps will lead us down into the fabulous city of Huchuy Qosqo. Huchuy Qosqo is situated above the Urubamba Valley, with the village of Lamay far below. It was an administrative center just like Pisaq, and boasts the remains of finely constructed stone buildings in the classic Inca imperial style. The center also possesses granaries, indicating that it was an important agricultural Centre. Continuing along our magnificent route, with the dark peak of Pitusiray 5050 m/ 16564 ft and the white peak of Sawasiray 5729 m/ 18791 ft ahead of us, we eventually pass through an Inca gateway made from stone and adobe.
  
  To descend into the valley we must take a steep path to the village of Lamay, from where we will return by road to Cusco or continue to the village of Urubamba.
  
  Driving travel Time: Cusco-Patabamba: 20 km/12.4 mi (Paved) 14 km/ 8.68 mi (Dirt) 1.5 h.
  
  Trek length: Patabamba–Qenqo 4 km/ 2.48 mi. Qenqo–Huchuy Qosqo 7.1 km/ 4.4 mi. Huchuy Qosqo-Sacred Valley 5.83 km/ 3.62 mi.
  
  Main altitudes: Cusco 3400 m/ 11152 ft. Patabamba 3886 m/ 12746 ft. highest pass 4066 m/ 13336 ft. Huchuy Qosqo 3800 m/ 12464 ft. Sacred Valley 3007 m/ 9863 ft.
