Amber Fort: The courtyards consisting of two buildings one to each other are separated by the garden laid in fashion of Mughal gardens. Adding to the beauty are skilfull floral designs, hovering butterflies, hooded cobra, fish tail, lion’s tail and elephant trunk that are carved on the walls of the palace. Jaigarh Fort: The Jaigarh fort is also known as the Victory fort was built in 1726 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II andbia situated on the top of Cheel ka teela hill of the Aravalli ranges overlooking the Amber fort and the Maota lake. The Jaigarh fort and the Amber fort are connected by subterranean passages. The fort features a cannon named, “Jaivani” which was the largest cannon on wheels at that time. The palace complex includes Laxmi vilas, Lalit mandir, Vilas Mandir,and Aram mandir, an armoury and a museum.
Nahargarh Fort: Situated on the edge of the Aravalli hills the Nahargarh Fort was established in 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Nahargarh fort was previously known as “Sudarshangarh Fort”. Soon after, the fort was named, Nahargarh which means ‘dwelling of tigers’ and thus is also known as Tiger fort. Nahargarh Fort bestows beautiful panoramic view of Man Sagar lake and was used to hunt the ducks by royalties and thus known as the hunting abode of maharajas. Known for its splendid beauty and picturesque surroundings,also because of the temple of Nahar Singh Bhomia, who once haunted the place and thwarted the construction in the fort, this place is famous among the tourists.
Jantar Mantar: The Jantar-Mantar of Jaipur is a compilation of twenty architectural astronomical instruments among which is the world’s largest stone sundial, was built by Rajput Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in year 1738. The brilliant masterpiece of human mind and masonary skills was designed for the observation of astronomical positions of celestial bodies with naked eyes and to predict the times. This set of several instruments is protected under the Rajasthan monuments Archaeological site and Antiquities Act 1961,under section 3 &4.
Jal Mahal: Providing the peace and calmness to the mind on sight, the Jal Mahal is located in the middle of the blue waters of the Man Sagar Lake and enchants the tourists by its serene beauty. The palace and the lake around it were renovated and enlarged in 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Considered as an architectural beauty built in the rajput and mughal fashions, the palace is a five storeyed building out of which four storeys are submerged in the waters of the lake. Moving past the chambers and the beautiful hallways on the first floor to climb the way up to the fragrant chameli bagh, this remarkable palace looks like a terrace garden.
City Palace: A beautiful landmark in the capital Jaipur, the City Palace is a complex which houses various structures such as, ‘Chandra Mahal’, ‘Mubarak Mahal’, ‘ Diwan- e- khas’, ‘and’ Govind dev ji’ temple. The palace was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in between 1729 and 1732 AD and was engineered by the chief architect Vidyadhar Bhattacharya and Sir Samuel Swinston Jacob. Although the palace reflects the fusion of Rajput, Mughal and European styles of architecture, this marvellous monument was built in accordance with the vaastushastra texts and is a must place to visit.

Hawa Mahal: The palace of winds as it is known, the Hawa Mahal was constructed in year 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh of Kuchwaha dynasty, the grandson of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. The intention behind the construction of this palace was to provide royal women a view of day to day life through the windows. The chief architect of this red and pink sandstone monument was Lal Chand Ustad who designed the palace in the shape of crown of Krishna consisting of 953 jharokhas which are decorated with intricate designs. The palace stands 50 feet high from its base providing the panoramic view of the pink city.
