Karakorum and Bayangobi Package

Package Overview

You will enjoy the picturesque natural scenery of Bayangobi while riding a two humped Bactrian camel across the sand dunes of “ElsenTasarkhai”, the so called “little gobi”. We will visit a local nomad family and have a taste of Mongolian dairy products, such as “Airag”, fermented mare’s milk, milk tea, curds and cheese. By spending the night in a ger, the Mongolian traditional dwelling, you will spice up your experience of the country.

After a 100 km of travel by a 4×4 vehicle the next day, you will arrive in Karakorum city, which was once the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire that was founded by ChingisKhaan. You will also visit ErdeneZuu monastery, the UNESCO World Heritage Site and the most ancient Buddhist monastery that was built in the 16th century on the ruins of Karakorum city.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival

  Up early morning, you will head to Elsen Tasarkhai, which is a unique area of forest and sanddunes. You will visit a nomad family here and discover their unique lifestyle as spending a night with them in their Ger. You will have lunch on the way to Elsen tasarhai and dinner will be served with a nomad family. Overnight in Ger with nomad family.

• Day 2 : Karakorum

  After breakfast, you will go visit Karakorum, the symbolic ruins of the 13th century capital of the Mongol Empire. Visit Erdene-Zuu, the oldest buddhist monastery, with 108 stupas, built in 1586. Then visit Karakorum museum and see the Great Mongol state period, Stone Age, Bronze Age, Ancient state period halls. Lunch and dinner will be served in tourist camp. Overnight in tourist camp.

• Day 3 : Camp

  After breakfast at tourist camp, drive back to Ulaanbaatar.
