Day 1 : Mulu National Park
Gunung Mulu is the most heavily promoted of the state’s national parks and one of the most popular destinations in Borneo. The park is an unspoilt wilderness offering caving, trekking and wildlife-viewing. It can be enjoyed simply for its beauty, or tackled as a challenge that even experienced outdoors enthusiasts will relish. However, as a privately managed park, Mulu is also the source of considerable controversy with regard to political profiteering and native land rights.
Day 2 : Mulu National Park
After breakfast, you will be taken by the guide for the longboat ride to Batu Bungan (Penan settlement) is situated on the banks of the Melinau River, half day tour between Clearwater Cave and the Park Headquarter. Stop at the settlement where Penan women sell a selection of their handicrafts / arts works. Continue journey by longboat to Wind Cave which walkways lead around this cave and is situated just before Clearwater Cave with its underground River is South-East Asia’s longest cave passage (over 75km). It can be reached by boat from the Park Headquarters’. If the water level is low, you have to get out of the boat to help to push the boat. From the river, visitors must climb 200 steps before reaching walkway that leads through the cave. Although the cave is lit, a torch is useful for examining the cave’s finer features. There is an excellent swimming area at the cave entrance. Most tour group stop here for a picnic lunch and a relaxing swim before proceed back to the park.
Day 3 : Mulu National Parks - Miri
Miri Town is a city in northern Sarawak, Malaysia on the island of Borneo. It is the second largest city in Sarawak, with a population of about 300,000 which comprises of Malay, Chinese, Iban, Orang Ulu, Melanau, Bidayuh, Penan with quite a sprinkling of expatriates happily living in harmony.
Day 4 : Miri - Brunei
Brunei is a sovereign state located on the north coast of the island of Borneo, in Southeast Asia. Apart from its coastline with the South China Sea, it is completely surrounded by the state of Sarawak, Malaysia, and it is separated into two parts by the Sarawak district of Limbang. It is the only sovereign state completely on the island of Borneo, with the remainder of the island belonging to Malaysia and Indonesia.
Day 5 : Miri - Lambir Hills National Park
Lambir Hills National Park is well known to be the world's most bio-diverse forest, Lambir Hills is home to more than 1,000 species of trees. There are plants and insects here that have not yet been discovered as well as waterfalls and bathing pools for a quick dip.
Day 6 : Lambir National Park - Niah Cave
The Niah National Park, Sarawak is the site of the Niah Caves, one of the largest limestone caves in the world. The Park covers 7,756 acres of forest and limestone. The peak of Gunung Subis, which is 394 meters high, dominates the landscape.
Day 7 : Niah Cave - Similajau National Park
Similajau National Park is a combination of golden sandy beaches and rainforest make the park perfect for bird watching, bathing, trekking, coastal cruises and viewing the wildlife. The national park provides recreational ground for the people within the central region of Sarawak.
Day 8 : Similajau National Park
After breakfast, trek along the main trail leads to the coast and the guide will highlights the park’s flora and fauna and try to spot wildlife to reach park’s excellent beaches - two turtle beaches set in beautiful bays, and Golden Beach which is a long, unbroken stretch of sand. All three beaches offer excellent swimming in emerald green waters. Alternatively, an interesting side trail (marked in yellow) leads to the Selunsur rapids, which is best, visited after recent rainfall.
Day 9 : Similajau National Park - Sibu
Sibu Town is a quiet town along the Rajang River where the Chinese population forms a majority. Sibu is the main tourist gateway to the Upper Rajang River, alongside you will find numerous authentic towns and many Iban and Orang Ulu longhouses.
Day 10 : Sibu - Hilton Batang Ai Resort
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and to be transfer to Batang Ai Hilton Resort.
On the way will stop at Serikei Town for lunch and a short tour round the town before continue the journey to Batang Ai Dam.
Upon arrival at the Batang Ai Receiving jetty, then board the resort ferry to be ferry across the dam to the resort. Check into the resort, and the rest of the day free.
Day 11 : Batang AI Iban Longhouse
After breakfast at the Batang Ai Resort, proceed to the jetty and taken the Iban Longboat to visit the Iban Longhouse.
At the Iban Longhouse the guide will bring and show you the longhouse. Relax and try the Iban homemade rice wine and will also be entertained by the Iban Warrior Dance / Welcome Dance (Najat). You are free to walk around and learn about the lifestyle of the Iban there. After that the Iban will demonstrate of the blowing of the blowpipe of how there hunt for wildlife before proceeding for picnic lunch (the Iban cooking style) at the river bank (depend on the water level and weather condition).
Day 12 : Batang AI - Kuching
Kuching Once the capital of the White Rajahs of Sarawak, now with a population of some 600,000, Kuching is small enough to walk around but interesting enough to keep you there for several days, and a good base for exploring Sarawak. It's safe and relatively clean. The name of the city, Kuching, The people of Kuching take pride in being the cleanest city in Malaysia and their diverse cultures, so be prepared for a totally different experience from that of West Malaysia.
Day 13 : Bako National Park
Bako Naitonal Park was gazetted in 1957, is Sarawak’s oldest national park, covering an area of 2,727 hectares at the tip of the Muara Tebas peninsula. It is one of the smallest national parks in Sarawak, yet one of the most interesting, as it contains almost every type of vegetation found in Borneo. The well-maintained network of nature trails - from easy forest strolls to full-day jungle treks - allows visitors to get the most out of this unique environment.
Day 14 : Semenggoh Orang Utan - Kayaking
8.00 AM Meet at the lobby, transfer to Semenggoh Orang Utan Centre. It is the only one of its kind in Sarawak. Set up in 1975, this 7.4 square kilometer of virgin forest is a home to orang utans. The orang utan is typically a bashful creature. Additionally, while these tailless apes spend most of the time foraging for food in the shelter of trees, some come out of hiding during the park’s regular feeding times, creating your best chance to catch a glimpse. From here you will have the opportunity to observe these primates and their behavior, emotions and interactions.
