Day 1 : Arrival - Homestay
Pick up from airport and transfer to Kompheim village, driving about 20km past green rice fields, and picturesque small villages. When you arrive at the village, your guide will introduce you to the family, and you can have a look around the village. There is a welcome lunch with the family in the afternoon. Then ride in an oxcart to the fields where you will have experience with the first day of work. After a day in the fields, you return home and have a shower Cambodian style. Late afternoon, you will be showed by Buddhist monk for a blessing ceremony for happiness, prosperity and safety for your journey. Around 6:30pm you will have dinner together with the family. At night you can relax and chat with the family, and teach English to the children if you like. There will also be a lot of neighbors come by to talk to you after they have finished their days work. Overnight with the host homestay family.
Day 2 : Farm Activity
It will be an early alms offer to the monks in the morning around 6AM before our breakfast time. We will enjoy going by oxcart to the fields to plant rice and vegetables or other field work. Today you will enjoy cooking class with local people in the village. You may also look after the cattle, ducks, chickens or pigs. It will be a full day’s work. You will be also joining with the villagers to weave palm leave making thatches. At night, after dinner, you can go to visit our neighbors or teach English. You may also have a party with local rice wine. Overnight with the host homestay family.
Day 3 : Temple Tour & Floating Village Homestay
After breakfast at homestay, Start your sightseeing tour of Angkor area we spend a full day exploring the wondrous ancient ruins with the South Gate of Angkor Thom, which is famous for its series of colossal human faces carved in stone, the impressive Bayon Temple, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and the largest as well as the most complete temple of Angkor Wat. This architectural masterpiece was constructed in the 12th century and covers an area of about 210 hectares. We stroll around this massive edifice, seeing the many galleries with columns, libraries, pavilions, courtyards and ponds full of water reflecting the towering temple and the jungle covered temple of Ta Prohm is an incredible sight. There are enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers which embrace themselves in the stone foundations of the structure giving the impression of man’s creation being reclaimed by the powerful forces of nature. We will continue our trip to Chong Kneas floating village where you will observe the daily lift on surface of water. Enjoy local dinner and overnight on the floating house.
Day 4 : Artisans D’Angkor & Silk Farm
After breakfast at homestay, we say goodbye to our homestay village and continue to visit the “Chantiers Ecoles – Les Artisans d’Angkor” which provides training to young Cambodians in an effort to revive the ancient Khmer traditions of stone carving and wood sculpting and drive to the Pouk district about 15 Km in the West of Siem Reap town you visit the silk farm, a fascinating farm/workshop where you can see the entire silk creation process including growing the food for the silk worms, breeding the worms, silk extraction and refinement, traditional kit dying pattern creation and looming. Retail silk and souvenir shop. Transfer to airport for your depart flight.
