Package Overview

The trek goes from Nar village through isolated region to the semi-independent Kingdom of Upper Mustang near the Tibetan border.

Upper Mustang located in the north central part of Nepal in the top of Kali Gandaki River, is opened for trekkers since 1992. It is regarded as the most unanticipated, mysterious and least known part of the country. Landscape here is barren moonscape of eroded sandstone pillars with irregular moraine terraces, which forms a vivid array of earthen reds, yellow and brown. Popular among the travelers as “Hidden Valley”; Upper Mustang trek is a easy trekking and appropriate for all ages along the permitted route to Lo Manthang( a small country under Nepalese principality titular King, Jigme Palwar Bista).

Leaving Annapurna Circuit at Chame, we will walk to the remote and isolated village of Nar. Leaving the village of Nar behind us we will cross rarely visited Teri La pass (5,595m) and enter into Upper Mustang.

Each year about 700 trekkers visit the area. Strong wind blows across the area in the afternoon. Situated in the rain shadow area, Mustang receives relatively less rainfall than the other part of the country.
