Day 1 : Arrive Mumbai (Bombay)
Arriving Mumbai & Transfer to Hotel.
Day 2 : Mumbai
Morning departure by boat (unless the sea is rough) to the caves of Elephanta Island, beautiful rock ensemble dating from the seventh and eighth centuries. You will discover the performances of the three aspects of Lord Shiva. In the afternoon, city tour of one of the most overflowing cities of India activities. You drive past the colonial buildings: the Art Deco Regal Cinema, the Cathedral of St. Thomas, Victoria Station and the Crawford market. If time permits (according boats bonds), visit the main halls of the beautiful museum in the Prince of Wales, and those paintings sculptures.
Day 3 : Mumbai / Nasik
Drive to Nasik (4:30), sacred city on the banks of the Godavari, nicknamed the Ganges Deccan. It was here that Rama and his wife Sita, the central characters of the Ramayana, were exiled. Visit Pandu Lena caves with refined sculptures.
Day 4 : Nasik / Aurangabad
Early in the morning, following the flood of pilgrims, visit (outside) of the main temples of the city, the ghats and the general ablution basin. Drive to Aurangabad (4:30).
Day 5 : Aurangabad (ELLORA)
Excursion to the famous cave temples of Ellora (1 h), wonderful paintings of allegorical sculptures depicting the golden legend of Buddhism. Declared World Heritage Site by Unesco, its caves are the jewel of rock architecture Deccan. Ascension to the fortress of Daulatabad which offers a magnificent view and discover the impressive monolith temple Kailashnatha. Glance at the mausoleum Bibi-Ka-Maqbara built in 1679, modest replica of the Taj Mahal.
Day 6 : Aurangabad / Ajanta / Burhanpur
A 2-hour drive, discover the caves of Ajanta, a site considered one of the jewels of the Buddhist sculpture and painting. Hanging on the hillside between heaven and earth, carved into the steep wall of the gorge of the river Baghora, the caves present a set of splendid frescoes, the oldest dating back to the second century before J-C. After lunch, continuation to Burhanpur (3h30), city where the Mughals controlled the South India.
Day 7 : Burhanpur / Omkareshwar / Maheshwar
Visit the Temple Sikh Gurudwara Badi Sangat, the largest mosque Jama Masjid, the Mughal palace. Road to Omkareshwar (3h), located at the confluence of the Namada and Kaveri. boat trip to discover the temples. Continue to Maheshwar (2h), legendary city-temple mentioned in the Ramayana and the Mahabharata on the banks of the Narmada, one of the sacred rivers of India.
Day 8 : Maheshwar / Mandu
Visit finely crafted temples where you discover the curious and endearing marble image of Goddess Parvati Ganesh holding the child on her lap. Walk along the lively ghats to the palace built in the sixteenth century and decorated with rich sculptures. Visit a sari weaving, renowned throughout the country. Drive to Mandu (2h). The ghost town has retained illustrious testimony to its glorious past and has one of the most prestigious collections of Afghan architecture in India.
Day 9 : Mandu / Amla
day excursion. Perched on a rocky escarpment, it is one of the main sites of central India. His troubled past, the ghost town preserved grandiose testimonies and has one of the most prestigious Afghan Indian architecture collections. Visit the main monuments: the huge Jama Masjid mosque dating from the fifteenth century, the mausoleum of Shah Hoshang the palace of Prince Baz Bahadur and the romantic pavilion Rupmati. Continue to the village of Amla. Installing the strong private local Raja and dinner.
Day 10 : Amla / Ujjain
Loitering in the bazaar. Drive to Ujjain (2h), great Hindu holy city footprint fervor. The sanctuary of the great temple of Mahakaleshwar contains one of the twelve jyotirlinga India, manifestation of divine energy (heart of the sanctuary reserved for Hindus). Walk on the famous ghats where pilgrims gather. Stop the observatory of Jai Singh II built in 1733.
Day 11 : Ujjain / Bhopal
Continue to Bhopal (3:30). Installation in the palace overlooking the huge lake. Visit the Bhojpur temple that houses a huge monolithic lingam of more than five meters in circumference. At Bhimbekta, World Heritage site, discovered rock paintings dating from the Paleolithic and Mesolithic.
Day 12 : Bhopal
Discovery of Buddhist monuments of Sanchi, World Heritage of Unesco. Splendid sculptures are representing the previous lives of the Buddha. Visit the archaeological museum with interesting carved pieces discovered on the site. A Udayagiri, visit of the rock caves devoted to Hindu and Jain religions. Free time to enjoy the bazaars of the city, or your beautiful hotel.
Day 13 : Bhopal / Delhi
Morning flight to Delhi.
