RIVER RAFTING IN INDUS AND ZANSKAR RIVER
River Rafting is an adventurous sport for the strong hearted. If you want to enjoy the experience in the Himalayas there is no other suitable destination than Leh - Ladakh. River rafting in Leh - Ladakh takes you through picturesque landscape. Traversing through the deep waters amidst deep canyons and soaring snow - covered peaks it is an experience every rafter would love to enjoy. There are many options for river rafting in Leh Ladakh; the main ones being Indus River rafting and Zanskar River rafting. River Rafting in Indus River and its tributaries provide the rafters with many opportunities. The best of the stretches in River Indus is the one between Spituk and Nimu or Saspol. But those who are new into the sport should choose the easiest stretch upstream from Spituk up to Karu.
Zanskar River :

Scorpoche to Sangam 16 km 2 hours 2+ For those who need the rush but not so much!
Tgosti to Sangam 7 km 1 hour 1+ For kids and family that just want something like a boat ride

Indus River :

Phey to Sangam 22 km 2.5 hours 2+ Long and hard but but great fun
Upshi to Kharu 4 hours 2+ A creeky river that will keep you on your toes!
Stakna to Choglmsar
14km 2 hours 2+ A scenic rafting trip where you can see a number of monastries from the river
Nimmoo to alchi 25km 2.5 hours 3+ Raft approximately 25 km from Nimoo to finish the trip at Alchi through Grade/Level III / IV rapids. After ending the trip at Alchi, we walk up to the centuries old monastery to view the beautiful frescoes and woodcarvings. Drive back 60 km to Leh.


PRECAUTIONS: -
1. Choose a licensed, professional rafting agent.
2. Always wear a life jacket, even if you know swimming.
3. Make sure that your outfit and life jacket are comfortable.
4. Do not wear any loose jewelry.
5. Hold the paddle properly.
6. Stay in the boat - Do not move unnecessarily.
7. Learn at least basic swimming techniques before going on hard level rafting.
8. Know and follow the commands that your raft leader gives.
9. Do not panic. By panicking you are putting everyone at risk. Always be confident and cool.
10. Listen to your guide in case of any issues. Do not act on your own accord.
