Day 1 : Arrive - Leh
Arrive - Leh, - Upon arrival in Leh, welcome by our local representative and transfer to a Ladakhi style hotel. Rest of the day you require to take complete rest for acclimatization to the arid high altitude of Leh (3505 m). Overnight in hotel.
Day 2 : Explore Indus Valley
Explore Indus Valley - On this day you will go on a sightseeing trip to some ancient and most popular monasteries in this area. Hemis Monastery, about 45 kms south of Leh, is one of the most famous and largest monastery in Ladakh. It belongs to the Drukpa order and was founded in the early 17th century. The setting is perfect with the monastery cradled in a lovely valley, surrounded by Mountain and long Mani walls.
Shey Gompa is about 15 kms from Leh. It used to be the summer palace of the kings of Ladakh. There are lots of Stupas and Gompas built around the palace. Shey palace was built by Deldan Namgyal in the beginning of 17th century AD. Main attraction in Shey is the 12m Shakyamuni Buddha statue inside the Dresthang Gompa.
Thiksey Gompa, close to Shey is about 17 kms from Leh. The monastery is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Ladakh and belongs to the Gelukspa order. This Monastery is more than 500 year old.
Day 3 : Leh - Nubra
Leh - Nubra - Today after breakfast, drive about 4-5 hrs [125 kms] to Nubra - known as valley of followers. After drive of about 02 hrs we will reach - The world`s highest motorable road called Khardongla high, about 18380 ft above sea level. From the top, we can see the most beautiful view of Indus valley & its snow covered peaks towering the sky and other side of the pass. If weather remain clear we can see Karakuram mountain peaks too. We descend down to beautiful valley & transfer to guest house. After lunch in a guest house. Later, short drive about 15 minutes to Hunder sand dunes & ride double humped bacterian camel, later back to guest house or Hotel for overnight stay. If time permits, we will have a village walk to see local people & its culture.
Day 4 : Nubra - Leh
Nubra - Leh - After breakfast, we will visit the most picturesque Disket monastery on the hill top. Later, continue drive to other side of Nubra valley - was the main part of silk route. Lunch at Khalser village. We will then, continue our drive back to Leh via Khardongla. Reach Leh & transfer to Hotel for overnight stay.
Day 5 : Day trip to Pangong Lake
Day trip to Pangong Lake - After early Breakfast leave for Pangong Lake, around (13,900 ft), through Changla Pass 17,350 ft., it is the third highest motorable road in the world. Arrive at Pangong which is the highest salt water Lake in the World, shared by two countries India & China. Enjoy the beauty of the lake on the Banks of Pangong while appreciating the changing colors and fascinating high altitude of the Lake. Drive back to Leh by the same route. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 6 : Leh - Delhi
Leh - Delhi fly - Morning transfer to Leh airport to board a classic mountain flight for your onwards journey.
